    • SUGGESTIONS 4 THE NEXT POP UPDATE

      11 17 405

I think that 4 the next pop-pop update, secret character can be unlocked in the puzzle mode because as much as i like 2 pop... these characters (god forbid) will one day get boring.

      what do you guys think
      Pop-rocks RULE

    • That would be a very nice feature. More pops and custom pops have been discussed before...

Another feature I'd love to see: The addition of a record of wins and losses (like in Warcraft 3 Battle.net).

Of course, these should have all been discused earlier.

    • As much as I like the idea of there being new pops, I don't think it can happen, In an update they can only fix bugs not add new parts to the game.

If they wanted to I guess they could but most likely not

    • yea, i think ^ is right but new characters is one of alot of things they can add to make a great game like pop-pop better. Any new ideas might come up in pop-pop 2.0

I think you're getting WAY ahead of yourself here.

Pop-pop's been out what - less than a week? Settle back and enjoy the game for a while.

Well, they could do what Blizzard does; when you connect to battle.net for multiplayer action, it checks your version number and automatically upgrades your copy. Ambrosia could do the same thing when you use the tracker, so you wouldn't have the issue of different versions of pop-pop playing at the same time.

    • Speaking of other pops...this is sort of a tangent subject.

What happened to the alligator-looking pop that used to be the ONLY DAMN THING on pop-pop.com way back when before the game went into beta? Was he nixed? What other pops were nixed? Wouldn't it suck to be a reject pop? 😄

    • Pop-Pop has automatic version tracking, but not automatic self-updating - as anyone who picked up a CD at MWNYC found out.

I meant more along the lines of how updates are normally used for bugs, Could you add more pops in just an update? or is that un-do-able

Well, it's "do-able", but it is a major change. I doubt it's gonna happen.

What you're talking about is probably just an experation date built into the program. The Nova beta builds had these, too (so I have to turn my clock way back to play with 1.0.0b2... why I would want to do that, I have no idea...).

Like Admiral Dennis said, it's do-able, in the fact that Ambrosia has the ability to make pop-pop have a feature like that. However, the probability of it happening is small.

It'll probably get to 1.0.2, or 1.0.3 at the latest. Just bug fixes, I'm guessing... maybe someone (Ambrosia, popWrangler, or some beta testers) will release some new levels, though they won't count as updates.

Although having it warn you if there's an update availabe should be possible in Pop-pop, you would need an update itself in order to add that sort of functionality - as someone else mentioned, the update for the Macworld CD had to be downloaded.
