anyone have any advice on using bombastic? his power seems a bit underwhelming... oftentimes the two bombs fall in the same place and its too easy to catch them. anyone have any tips? thanx!

the bombs distances seem to depend on the paddle's speed. I find that if I flick the mouse in the opposite direction as I hit the ball the bombs fall further apart.

Hmmm - I think this is purely a random coincidence during your play. But- if it works for you great.

The real trick is what difficulty you set the game at. Normal and only 2 bombs drop. Hard sends 4 bombs down, while Expert sends 5 bombs on their merry way. That, combined with the increased speed of both the ball and the dropping bricks - add to the pressure..

Nah, not true. It must be your imagination. I know, because I've played a lot (A LOT) with Bombastic. He used to be my favorite pop, before andrew neutered him. :frown: But anyway, the way to play with him, is first of all to play in Hard or Expert mode (expert is best.) His special is much more powerful that way (more bombs.) Wait until you have a large number of power bars, then use them all in succession, as fast as you can. If your oppenent's bricks are near the Line of DESTINY (love that name,) it'll most likely be curtains for them.

Use his power when your opponent has bricks just above the line. He will have to stop to catch them, and normally if he does, the bricks come down. However, if he doesn't catch them

And I think in hard it sends down 3 bombs, not 4, EVula. I've played with him and againist him on hard, and it only sends down 3.

Easy mode = 2 bombs (side by side)
Medium mode = 2 bombs
Hard mode = 3 bombs
Expert mode = 4 bombs

Heh, I used this trick to take out a guy I was playing a while ago. It caused me to win a round, so he complained that it was "cheap" and quit the game.
