    • The Ol' Veggie is Back, for good.

Sorry for taking the long absence folks. Spring Break and the like has been seperating me from my beloved Ares, and now that I've obtained Hera I feel motivated again. But I have several big announcements to make.

First of all I'm ditching my deal to produce my expansion set with Aeon Productions. They don't seem to be in active contact, so I'll be enlisting a new group to help me with my project. If you're interested in working on Aftermath with me, just say so. I'll take all the help I can get.

I will be attempting to create a whole slew of multiplayer maps for Ares, as I see it as the thing that everyone wants most. Considering that the final version of Hera is not out yet, I would not count on it to be out for a while. I will experiment around and see what can be done, and I'll try to make some pretty darn good maps. Again, don't count on this to be out soon though. I might also include these maps into my plugin.

Weekly tourneys, of course, will be coming back. I need to set up some website and appropriate forms to make an easy and formal registration process. Also, with map-making potential on the horizon, I might be introducing new and complex tournements.

Last note- research guild. I think I will scrap the previous and gather a new group, since participation seemed low. I did promise the Axis that section and it has been more than long enough. But what I really need is some data, and its not easy gathering information by myself. Check the engineering department for an announcement on that.

That about wraps it up. I should stick around for good now, and I'll be around.

    • Umm, what games on Saturday? I haven't been on Gameranger in a couplea months, none the less have I played any Ares recently. I guess I have an imposter.

Oh well. Another fool to fry. Guess my return will be fun.

    • Slug, I really don't see the point of an Ares clan; you can't have a game with more than 2 people, so there's no way to have a clan match.

    • No, I'm not jealous. I toyed with the idea myself and dismissed it as stupid for that very reason. The whole point of having a clan is to have clan matches, and to see which clan is better.

Now, by logic we can see this is a stupid idea because:

      1. You can't have more than 2 players in ares. Therefore, a "clan match" would be 1 person against a different person, which is the same as a normal game. It reduces the whole "clan" idea from who has better teamwork/communications skills to who can recruit Vegeta first so that they can put him in for every game and win all the time.

      2. You are the only Ares clan, so you're the best and the worst. There's no point, because there's no one to compete with, and I don't see this as a trend that will take off. Unless, of course, some equally ignorant people follow your trend.
