    • Power of the assult transport


      Ya,
      I Any one ever notice that the Ishman Assult transport is actually a pretty good ship in general. It is almost like a huyped up fighter. Its normle laser, primary wepon thing fires about twice as fast as a gunships, its has 5 C missles, and without help mind you, can deliver its ETA troops to a bunker. Weel, if you can dodge the missles of ity and then fly over and dump off the troopps........ But seroisly, it is a realtivly good ship. It can fend for itself against a couple salrilian cruisers!

      Please tell me what you think about this........

    • Yes, it is a pretty tough ship. It is maneuverable and tough. One thing it can't stand up to is an HVD.

    • Ishiman ATR is a bit weak IMO.

      Now, Sal ATRs on the other hand....

      Once on GameRanger I defeated a guy in a Salrilian vs Salrilian game by massing ATRs to massacre his gunships and cruisers with their magno pulse weapons. Quite easy when you have 3 Outposts and the Bunker Station 🙂

      ...on a side note anyone know how to get OmniWeb to stop underlining Salrilian, GameRanger, etc as mispelled words?

      Sure just Control Click on the word and in the menu click Learn Spelling

    • Assault transports aren't half bad... but then, I suppose you automatically assume that since they serve the same function as transports, they must be relatively weak.

      I do recall that balancing the Chi'uata Assault Transport was necessary- they shouldn't be able to destroy a Gunship one on one.

    • Assault Transports can make an acceptable defense force, but they can never be a good attack force - they don't have hyperdrive. Should you send a fleet of them to your enemy's planet, the enemy can simply bypass it and never actually have to fight it.

    • If you have a fleet of assault transports camping over the enemy's planet, especially Salrillian ones, then they have a problem.

      Hmm, 4-5 assault transports unloading all their people over the enemy planet, hindering movement...

    • Yes, but it takes a long time to get the Assault transports there, and while you do so, you're completely open to attack, since the Atrans won't be helping.

    • Yeah, I was playing with somebody on GR - they may know who they are... I was talking to them saying that a Salrillian Carrier could take out an Ishiman HVD any day - so they decided to challenge me. I accidentally built an Assault transport first and said "Oops, don't attack it," they did though. They didn't lose, but even without computer control on the ATR, the HVD limped away, blinking and about 2 Magno Pulses away from Doom. Now tell me if a carrier would have lost that...

    • Yep, if the person flying the hvd was at least halfway decent at flying, he could take out your carrier.

    • Well... Not if all 10 fighters are all prelaunched. They will be enough to distract the HVD from the actual target, making the HVD an easy kill for the Carrier. 😉

    • a HVD can take 2 carriers of any race out EASILY with decent piloting.
