    • You know up there, where I was foolish? Turns out I was only foolish in thinking I was foolish (of course, I could be wrong/foolish here in thinking that I was foolish to think i was foolish, but hey). So, here goes:

Level 15 is amazingly easy. You begin with a merry little fleet consisting of: an HVD, a carrier, and a battleship. The Salrillian dogs start out with a merry little fleet consisting of: a cruiser. Now, who has the early-game advantage?

Rush them, that's all I'll say.

    • Hmmmm. i never rush the puter. maybe ill try that. πŸ™‚ can anyone give me some pointers for (damn it i forgot the lvl#) but the name is "and it feels so good" the one were you face off against the Auds. i rarly beat that without cheating. it happens but its not easy. i beat it today with a semi-rush but it was still time consuming.

I find the best strategy for Lvl 17 is to immediately target the Aud planet. Start FTLing towards it and build a carrier, then order the Elejeetian cruisers to go to the planet. Kill all the Auds and then land a trans πŸ™‚

    • Well, that's the quick way to do it. I usually capture all three stations and send a MASS (Yes, MASS ) fleet to the enemy's planet. Then, well... end of story.

    • For level 17, I capture the bunker station and guard it, not bothering to capture and then have to protect the outposts. Whenever I see an Audemedon transport or assault transport, I take a part of my fleet, jump in, kill it, and go back to the bunker. After I feel that my fleet is up to the task of taking out the forces over their planet, I go in, take them out, and send in a transport.

Ironic, of all the troubles I've had with the single-player missions, I beat that one on my first try. πŸ˜›

    • on level 17 i take the two out posts with gunship attacks. then make a pile of kruzers for me and on the home bace then move in on the bunkerstation all at once from 4 different directions wile there is a big fleet there. this usualy workes as the ships defending are surounded and have to split there fire in 4 diferent directiuons. i then attack with the fleet i got left and a cople of carryers and i win easily.
i dont need to zulu eather, this is more taticaly deatailed one might say.

    • Strategy is always, as Sun Tzu might say, in minimizing losses (where it counts) and doing things quickly. Your goal thus, is to finish the level and it doesn't matter how many ships you build. So the best strategy, is technicaly, for 15: rush, 17: rush.

    • the problem is that any level can be rushed easily, in the same way as C&C; hence the zulu tactic, im just trying to be more inventive, and its quicker than zuluing the level 17 any way.

    • Zuluing, that' s a name I haven't heard before to describe rushing.

Zuluing is more inconvenient to type than 'rushing'. The letters for rushing are all near each other and follow in sympantic rythm, which any typist will evolve to. Zuluing requires the retraction of the pinkie finger of the left hand (assuming you touch-type) thus minimilising your comfort. It's not often people are called upon to type 'z', and when they do, the letters 'ulu' are not exactly the most convenient either. I will forgive anyone who makes a mistake typing 'zuluing', as it may easily be done so. But it's only a 4 letter prelative, so I can't exactly dismiss the charge either.

    • does it matter? it sounds better anyway.

    • The way to beat almost any ares scenario is to RUSH. Nathan Lamont had a reason in putting those 3 to 7 minute averages in the par box at the end of each scenario. It is kind of fun to lag your computer with huge fleets though...

    • yha, the times are set like that i know, and i compleated the game quickly by "rushing" (zuluing) it to death. this gets boring for some one used to thinking tacticly, the main tactics in the game, are: keep your self alive until you can start a build sequence to build a huge attack force with little organisation to swamp the comp player. im just making a more intresting variation to this main tactic that still, even though it takes a little more time to set up, i still get miles more points than the average.

    • Um, let's talk about net games now. These scenarios can get a bit boring after a while.

    • I like it when i fake rush people.
      it's always fun
      has benifits too..

      But on a side note....
All you people commenting on the solo levels. Why are only half of you on GR? where is everyone else?

solo levels are nothing compared to a net level against a good player.
