I've been toying around with a ship design in Anathema Chapter 3 that's something of a supercarrier. Think a Fed Carrier but on par (or a bit below) a Raven. I'd been wanting to use an area cloak outfit for a while, and this ship seemed like a good time to implement it.
For those who have never read up on this type of cloak, it cloaks the ship and all fighters/escorts in formation around it. This seems to work fine when the player is using the cloak, but it's been buggy when the AI uses it. Basically, the fighters rapidly cloak and uncloak even when they're in formation.
The stats for the cloak are:
Area Cloak
0 Shield/Second drained
15 energy/second drained
Deactivates on hit

I haven't seen any discussion on area cloaks on these forums, so I'm not sure how much messing around with them the community has done, but if anybody has any insights into the issue I'd appreciate them. I'll keep tinkering with it and see if I can get it to work properly.
