I'm working on a plugin and trying to get a certain pers ship to show up in the Sol system, but it only shows up if its ID is 643 or lower. I read the EVN Bible and it says you can have 1024 person types max, so I'm kinda confused as to why my pers ship doesn't show up when its ID is at only 651. Is 643 the limit or something? Help would be greatly appreciated!

First off, welcome to the boards. Second, the EV Dev's Corner is the place for this. I honestly don't know, though it'd be best just to lower it and see if that works out.

Okay, thanks!

You're supposed to say iMove or something funny when you move a topic.

If I remember correctly, there's some weird hack that you can run that will regenerate "dead" përs's, but if you wanted to distribute the plug, everybody would have to run it, and it was really buggy. Or I could just be hallucinating.
What you can do, however, is find some përs that nobody will miss and replace it. Because that përs ID shouldn't be dead, Nova will read it as still being around.

The problem is the higher IDs are 'dead'. An annoying oddity of the Nova engine. If you start a new pilot, all non-existent pers IDs are declared 'dead' meaning that if you want to add a new pers you have to start a new pilot.
Yay! Now it all makes sense!. This is my third plugin for EV... my first one ever was for EVO. I think I was 10 or 11 at the time. Now I'm designing a very random plugin for EVN that has ships shaped like fruit and vegetables. A kiwi is all I've made so far. I don't have a 3d modeler like lightwave, so I'm making do with Blender 3d. But that's enough of my rambling... .

Like one of the multitude of 'Terrapin' perses....
I think the terrapin perses are there to give you the <PN> I'll give you 40,000 credits if you escort me to <DST> mission so deleting them might be a bad idea.

There's also a whole bunch that have random names and hail you out of nowhere, such as the St. Leboniz or something.
