    • Desc Rescource Help

Yes, I did do a search on the forum.

      'Ello peoples.

Long time player of EV games, but now just getting interested in making plug ins.

I'm using Mission BBS editor, for my tools need on the 1.0.10 version of Nova.

My problem is that, it seems that I cant get the Nova to recognize my changed desc.

I'm just trying to get used to how Nova works, before I try anything truly original.

I am trying to change the desc of the Cargo drone.

It's ship ID is 130. So for it's escort desc that comes to the desc ID 14002, (130-128+14000) correct?

Also, on another point. Nova Data Files, 3, 5 and 6 hold the Desc resources correct?. Strangely though, and I'm probably blind, but I can't seem to find the ship desc in either of those files.

Be much appreciated for any help that can be provided.

    • I don't know exactly where they are but if they're not in the files you mentioned then try the 'ships' files.

    • :nods: Okaies for the ship.

The first issue, though. About the change to the ship seem to not be recognized?

    • Are you registered?

And it seems to me that the desc resources are in Nova Data 1.

    • Yes'em for a few years now.

    • Are you duplicating the resource in question, putting it in a new plug-in, and putting that plug-in in the plug-ins folder? Nova should automatically replace resources from the original data files with the one(s) in a/the plug-in(s).

    • Yes'em. The other resources I adjusted to the cargo drone are registering. It flying about like a pathetic fighter. Just not the desc resource.

      Oh.
      It working now.
Um yea. A zero was missing. Sorry 'bout that.

    • Que? It should only do that if you modified the ship resource as well, which you don't need to do for a simple desc...

    • What happen was, that the resource in question not working was set to 1402, instead of 140 0 2. Which I didnt notice till I decided to reset everything in a fresh plug...
