    • Need Ideas For A Plug In


      I'm making a plug in that's a very simple modification of the normal "Spaze Warz" net scenario. It is a single player game where you go up against one other ship. I have to make one scenario for each Ship Vs. Ship, but It's turning out all right so far. I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas for what ships to pit against each other. So put a few down...

    • I have a couple fighter against fighter scenarios ready. I find though that usually you will run out of energy before you actually manage to kill the other guy. Then all you can do is run away and wait ten minutes before he kills you and you get another ship. If I was able to post it I'd advise you give the current version a shot and tell me what I could do to make it better, but AOL is acting up and the submit button on the Ares sit doesn't seem to work. Oh, What do you think the best stats for the Ishiman Gateship would be, it's sprite is there, but it doesn't have any info.

    • Gateship on gateship battles would be very boring if you keep the current weapons of the Cantharan gateship.

      Yes, as we've seen while testing Ishiman vs Cantharan. We've ended up making it a supership. 😉

    • This was suggested by Pallas some time ago:

      Start the 2 players in fighters (with kill penalties if they move too far away from a planet). When a fighter is destroyed, the player is re-incarnated in a cruiser, and so on from cruiser to gunship, and then to carrier and hvd.

    • I had a bunch of ideas for web levels that I programmed, but then they kinda sat in my computer. If you want you can include them I had some pretty good ideas. I already had 7 of them programmed, so I could send them to you.

      Here's the basic ideas of them:

      1: the standard each player has a planet, with a minefield of flak drones surrounding everything and you have to kind of burrow your way to your opponets planet with engineering pods. There are also a few bunker stations mixed in. Oh yeah, and each flak drone (about 50 total) produces 1/10 the resources of a planet. The base planets can produce basic ships, there are two bunker stations that can produce Heavy Cruisers and Schooners, and the habitat station in the middle is the only thing in the scenario that can produce Carriers and HVD's.

      2: Each player has a ton of fighters and 4 planets, which can only produce fighters and transports. The planets are in two rows about 1000 pixels apart. Capture all the planets to win.

      3: Each player has 4 HVD's, but one hit from anything blows one up.

      4: One player has more resources and better shipbuilding capabilities, one has a better race and has to capture one of the other players planets to start out. (player 2 starts out with several transports). This may take awhile to get balanced, but I think it would be cool once it was.

      5: 2 Bunker stations, and each player has 5 cloaked AST's (that can't re-cloak) and 5 "dummy AST's" that can re-cloak(cloaking device instead of assult team). The player can build all the dummys he wants, but doesn't get any more real ones unless all of both player's real ones are dead. Whichever player gains control of both bunker stations first wins.

      6: Two players each have a base and can produce basic ships, and they have to fight each other while constantly fending off Salrilian Raids. But if the Salrilian player (computer) captures either of the bases, they both lose. So it may become necessiary for one player to defend his enemy. 😛

      The last one is pretty complicated, so if you want to know more about it I'll e-mail it to you.

      Also, maybe you could solve your fighter problem by giving the fighters more energy.

I'm not sure if I'm going to release what I've made - In fact I haven't worked on it in about two weeks (although it's pretty well finished anyway).     • You could also solve the fighter problem by placing flak drones in the arena with enough range to cover the exits (with a suitably unavoidable weapon).
