I will give you some information later, for now the only things I can say are some features:

A whole new story plot with 4 different main story lines.
Thousands of missions to get money.
A universe more than 6 times as big as the one in Nova.
      Over 10 new goverments.
More than 40 new Human/Alien ships.
      Over 200 Outfits, weapons etc.
More than 5000 Systems with over 6000 Planets and Stations.
New Graphics for everything including Interface, Planets, Weapons and of course ships.

Thats all I can say for now but I will post more graphics today.

Bink, I'm sure it will be brilliant, but put that way you make it sound dreadful -- like those endlessly miserable levels in Tomb Raider 3 where you could get lost for days without ever advancing the plot.

If you've got 6000 planets and stations, how will you make them all memorable and unique?

Consider the difference between the following descriptions:

"Mingus is a green farm world with excellent agricultural produce."

      Or

"There's something in the air on Mingus. You can feel it the moment your airlock depressurises and Mingus atmosphere comes flooding in to replace canned, stale space air. It's like new mown grass or something.

"Mingus has no cities, only farms -- thousands upon thousands of tiny farms, each specialising in a particular, unique variety of corn, or maize, or apples, or plain cabbages, or anything.... But all are subtly flavoured, subtly rich, green perfection.

"Mingus does have other professions -- doctors, vets, biologists, ecologists, machinists. But the highest status goes to the planet's oldest profession. As it's often said: 'On Mingus, we are all farmers'"

For my money, a plugin with a hundred worlds like the second one is worth more than one with five-thousand like the first.

    • I have just one question... what's it called?

OK... first: This is NOT supposed to be art, but a modell for a plug-in. I didnt do the ship, and the background has nothing to do with the picture, ist all about the ship. This ship will be one of 40-50 new ships in our (me, my brother and a friend of mine) Plug-In. I did not post it here to show you a nice picture, but to let you see what our Plug-In is going to be like. This modell is for a 200 x 200 px big ship, not for Artwork. I will load up another picture of the ship, without background and Nova logo, only the ship.

EDIT: I DID NOT DO THE SHIP!!! It's the work of a friend, so dont tell me what to do better please...

Meh even so, it may not be about the artwork but it's still good advice if you're going to advertising ships/TC's and what not. People will find the TC graphically beautiful if you advertise it right.

    • This smacks of vapour-ware. If I had mod privs here...

      Dave @ ATMOS

    • Im gonna take this moment to announce my new TC. Its called astronest something or other, its cool. Ill have a beta out in two years.

    • I think it was not good to post this on a board full of idiots... just ignore this post from now and play the plug in when its done, ok?

Many people said something about the stellar systems, let me just do it, I know how to do things like this.

I will not post anything here anymore, until the Plug-In is done. So just wait 6 or 7 months until it done. Thanks

      Bink

    • Six or seven months? You might even beat SFA! 😮

This is just too confusing. This plug seems so far in (maybe even almost done), yet we know nothing about it.

      whatever. <_<

And that kind of planet could probably not be lurking deep in the heart of the horsehead nebula...

I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that that is in fact the Eagle nebula. And I totally agree with you on that.

Ah, so then you ask our opinion, and then insult us when we give it (well, I gave no opinion, I tend to steer clear of topics like these). Do remember that this is basically the only board on which you can ask for plugin advice. And yet you've just insulted every single member in one strike. I believe the term is "Shooting yourself in the foot, and then shooting every doctor who comes within a 10 foot radius."

      Have to agree with this.

You may not have come across my plugins, but you should certainly respect Pipeline, because he is the man who brought you Nova.

Also, the people on this board have been developing EV plugins since the mid-1990s. If you say 'we've just started making a TC and it will be the biggest ever and we will be finished in six months', then these people have a right to suggest that -- contrary to your own opinion of yourself ("I know how to do things like this") -- you don't actually know what you're talking about.

I'm sorry to sound harsh, but you've basically rubbished all the advice people have given you, even though these are the people who have the track record.

I think you're very wise to say nothing about your plugin for a few months. Hopefully people will have forgotten this thread by the time you have something to release.

    • They wish.

As for Martin, Bink, you should respect him , since he inspired ATMOS to make Nova. 🙂

I look forward to seeing what you've got done in six or seven months, says the guy who's been working on a massive Star Trek TC for the past four and a half years and counting and who still has a way to go before it's finished. If you can produce something as large as you are claiming, says the guy whose TC's unique spöb count is in excess of 1200 and it took him four years to get to that point, then I will be very impressed. Otherwise, forgive me if I don't hold my breath, says the guy who's been working on his TC since before Nova was released and who didn't have a playable alpha for at least two years.

    • That's not to discourage you from playing around with the editor and having fun, just have realistic expectations about how long these things'll take. I've been putzing around with my own TC since I got Nova, but while it is fun, the probability of me ever finishing it is only slightly greater than Posted Image
