I know this is unrelated, but how can I make an IRC channel?

Not only is it unrelated, but the thread title is entirely abstract.

1: post questions to a board dedicated to those questions, as opposed to wherever you damn-well feel like posting, for this I'd suggest Just Tech
2: name your threads something intelligent in future, or face a complete lack of replies.

1: I completely agree with what Hudson said.
2: type /join #omgyourchannelnamehere. You'll be the op, but it won't be persistent.
