    • Used copy of LightWave 7.5 for sale

      ..and reasonably priced...

      Hey there people,

I recently bought LightWave 8.0, and the price difference between an upgrade and a flat-out new copy was so small I decided to just go with a new full copy. I thought it was a waste to just nullify a fully-functional tool like that. So, what I am providing is a complete, legitimate, educationally-licensed edition of LightWave 3D 7.5 for Mac and Windows. It includes:

      - All program discs
      - USB Hardware dongle
      - Full manual, with MotionDesigner additional manual

I would ship in the original box if I could, but I pitched it long ago.

For this package, I am charging $80 , shipping being included in this cost. For various reasons, I am going to have to limit sale to those of you who live in the US. A used copy or 7.5, commercial license, seems to be going for roughly $250 to $300 these days. A new academic copy of 8.0 goes for $295. Please note that there is no functionality limitations in the academic edition; you're simply not supposed to do commercial work with it.

If you're interested, email me at maxoid@gmail.com
Questions or concerns can probably be posted here.

edit: I WILL ONLY ACCEPT OFFERS UNTIL 12:00 PM PST, TUES NOV 2ND.

P.S. - I am hoping this is an okay topic for this forum--I justified posting this here because people often come here looking for advice on 3D programs, and this seemed the best way to get this information to interested parties. I could just post it on ebay, but I would prefer to see this tool in the hands of an eager EVer, if I can.

    • Okay, I recommend that anyone in the US thinking about getting LightWave consider this excellent offer. It's a great price, and you'll be supporting a man who's been an inspiration to me for many years. 🙂

Aftermath team, Retribution team: grab this!

    • US only...

      Booo-hisss I say to you, booo-hisss!

    • This looks interesting. I'll pass it to the Genesis graphics people.

    • Wow...stand by on that. I have at least two or three prospective buyers who would be thrilled to get this.

Pipeline, so glad to see someone with faith in Retribution :).

My reasons are mainly currency conversion and international shipping, which in concert would make me charge "international" customers a little more to make up the difference. I don't want to be unfair pricewise, but if folks outside the US are willing to pay what amounts to a you're-not-an-American-tax, we could work something out.

There is only ONE COPY, by the way. I never even considered how I would decide who gets it. Dang.

    • Okay, consider this my non-binding initial privy order for it (why? because I need permission first, and I also need to talk to my graphics people). I'm receiving money for something, and unless I can get confirmation from my graphics people, I'll get it.

(Of course, if you've gotten e-mail before this post, those should take precedence. No need to be unfair.)

    • Two more things:

First, I missed pipeline's post a second ago, don't know how. Thanks, bro, and I must say the inspiration is a bidirectional thing 🙂

Second, I know this price is pretty low. I am only charging enough to cover shipping and make up the difference between the upgrade price and new-copy price for LW 8. I am not trying to make a profit. I just thought it important to mention.

      Well, I'm honoured.

Never thought you meant to do anything other than what you said, mate. It's what's called a "genuine reason for sale". 🆒

      best always,

      Dave @ ATMOS

    • I'm very interested in this.

What were you saying about ordering it UE?

    • NOW HEAR THIS:

I am only accepting offers until 12:00 PM PST, TUES. NOV. 2nd.

This is also posted now in an edit to the start of the thread.

    • I must admit, when I first read the title of this post, my first reaction was, "Onyx, nooo!", like you were in a bind for money and had to give up doing 3D... 😛

Whoever ends up buying this is getting an incredible deal on a very powerful software package. Good stuff.

    • Okay, it's been a week and a half or so, and apparently no action. What's going on, you ask? Well, it was my own fault for not thinking about how to decide who to award the package to. Nevertheless, I am sorting it out between schoolwork, and in keeping the confidentiality of potential clients, well, confidential, I will say this: Things are still in the works, no decision has yet been final, and I intend to make my final sale by the end of the month.

Considering this reply will bump the thread back to the first page, I'm going to remind everyone that I am not accepting more offers. I would suggest checking some online auction sites for this program, as I've seen some pretty decent deals go by.

@weep - Me, give up 3D? Never! Just wait 'till you see what I've been up to...

More 3D, I say, MOOOOOOORE! 🙂 You've always been awesome, I want more of your work.
btw, I would have offered on this,( I need new graphics software desperately, I'm 2 versions behind on C4D), but, I just don't like Lightwave. Ah well, maybe it can go to making someone else in to a great artist. You'll help some one alot Onyx. 🙂

Ooo, I can't wait! 😄 You've shown so little (read: nada) stuff any time recently...or at least anywhere that I've seen.

I would dave, and I'm the one from retribution who needs it most... However I'm in the land of Oz, so he's restricted me outta that one. Dammit, it's a price I can afford too. 😞

Sure you won't reconsider the US limit Onyx?

Uh. Read the full topic dude. Especially posts from Onyx.

    • This forum is a place to discuss plugins for EV:Nova and how to development, not a marketplace to buy and sell graphics software. Especially at prices like that. Sheesh.

Read the topic. Sheesh. If it were inappropriate, it would have been locked by now. And besides, $80 is dirt cheap for a 3D program of that caliber.
