      Babylon 5 TC Graphics work

Looking for a board member equipped with LightWave and 3D StudioMax for some conversion work and any additional intuition they can bring to the project. Check out the info on ev-nova.net. I can be contacted by e-mail (mwej@comcast.net) or by PM from nova.net under the same username. Thanks much.

    • Some additional information:

We have a few excellent graphics guys as it is, so we don't necessarily need you to do much work. Basically, we are following UT's stratagem of using freely available 3D models as a base for further work, and we will modify the models as required. Unfortunately, the majority of models we have found are in 3DS Max and Lightwave format... Something neither of us have.

We'd be most appreciative if anyone owning either of these programs can help us convert these to a more universally usable format. We're not on a very stringent schedule at this point, and any amount of work you do will be most appreciated.

      Thanks, from all of us!

Ah, there's a great source of confusion. There are two different things: the 3d object format known as .3ds, and the program known as 3D Studio Max, which I believe saves as .max. I'm pretty sure that all mainstream programs can import and export .3ds, but many require 3rd party plugins to read .max.

    • I know Cinema 4D can import Lightwave files.

Oh, and if you need a galaxy map to work from, I found a great one a few years back when I set out to make B5 TC. (I never got terribly far.)

    • I shall send you a PM.
