    • max ships per system

what's the limit for the number of ships in each system? if i were to make sol look very crowded, what's the best way to do it without overcrowding the system and killing framerates?

    • According to the Nova Bible, the maximum number of ships allowed in a system is 64.

    • I don't think there's really any other way to make it look crowded without it actually being crowded. You could try using ships with no animations and stuff to keep the framerate up. If you really want it to look crowded you could try making a whole fleet of ships as one sprite.

    • aha! asteroids that look like space traffic lights! 🙂
      thanks for the inspiration.

    • In Gundam, I have a bunch of wrecked ships floating around in the Sea of Solomon using asteroids. I have an entire set of asteroids devoted to ship wreckage for both the Federation and Zeon, and decreasingly large parts of ships thrown in there. It works pretty well to fill up a system, so long as it is not overly packed.
