Unwanted Graphics

Does anyone have any graphics they have made that they don't want/need? Basically this is a begging mission as I don't have any graphic making experience or ability whatsoever.

Basically, I am planning on making a new plug in where there is a storyline that is kind of a hybrid of the matrix and EVN. I am not sure about the matrix bit yet.

I am planning on making a new string where the ATMOSosians ask for your help in relatively small missions, getting bigger and more fruitful. Then the final few missions centre around a bug in the game (kinda like agent smith), and he flies around attacking anything and everything. He's kinda like a pirate, but in an almost invincible ship. Basically, if you prove yourself to the atmos guys, they give you an almost invincible ship (an invincible ship would be pointless), and in the final mission, you fight it out to the death against the bug.

I have written the first mission already, but in my opinion a plug of this size would be rather lacklustre if no new ships were introduced. If anyone has any graphics that they are willing to donate to me they would be very gratefully accepted. The graphics would be fully credited to you in the plug.

Also any ideas would be very helpful and appreciated. And if any regulars on the boards, or moderators want to be included in the storyline, just post here or email me and I will be happy to oblige.

Try some of the evula.com (org? I dunno) free shipyards. Other than that, it'd be difficult to find unused Nova-quality graphics just lying around. Of what you do find, well, beggars can't be choosers. You'll tend to only be able to find willing graphics users if you've finished more of your plug. We usually don't like to sign on to a project until it's already in production.

In that respect I've already learned my lesson because there was a project that I joined and after finishing probably a dozen or more ships, the project went vaporware and nearly a year's worth of work went down the drain (especially since my HD crashed and I lost all my data, the original files as well as the renders). Because pretty much all of us have experienced this (or at least the disappointment of spending a large chunk of our free time and then the plug goes under and there really isn't much to show for it. Therefore, we like to see that the project's members have hit their stride and there's a good chance that the project will be completed before we commit to it. Besides, despite that I take pride in my work, graphics are really just icing on the cake. For games like EV and EVN, graphics aren't necessary early in production. There are a lot of steps that can be completed before new graphics become useful. If you really want to differentiate ships early, then placeholders (anything from shipyards, or just stock graphics renamed) will usually do.

I'm not trying to say that you won't ever get new graphics, but in all likelyhood, you aren't going to get people to just jump at your request at this early stage. This is more of a case of - come back when you're ready and we'll see what we can do.

Another good shipyard: (url="http://"http://www.pacifier.com/~kkey/shipyard/index.html") Onyx's Shipyard(/url). Also has planets and outfits.

(url="http://"http://modenstudios.com/evodev")Meowx's site(/url) (under "Resource Freighter 3") has ships by him and links to lots of other shipyards.

Onyx wrote a great tutorial on adding EVN engine glows to old EV & EVC ship graphics -- if that interests you, search for it on these boards. It is in the thread where he announced the opening of his shipyard.

I used Onyx's for the first 75% of my TC, I reccomend it highly. I have all of the shäns Novafied if anyone wants them...
