    • AI ships vs. AI ships with Point Defense


      AI ships with point defense turrets don't seem to use them against other AI ships (that have point defense vulnerability) when they have either wimpy or brave trader AI.

      For now I guess I'll have to make traders use the warship AI just to get them to shoot with their point defense turrets.

      Using EVN version 1.0.8 with my TC.

      P.S. When I'm fighting them they do use their point defense, so this is just strange.

      EDIT: I changed the dĂźde resource AI to warship and no effect. I think it has to do with the inherent AI in the shĂŻp resource.

      Great. Just change the Inherent AI to warship and leave the dude AI on trader and they'll behave exactly as you want them to.

    • Would you mind using &xuml; for umlauted characters, where x = the character? It's annoying to read a tilde'd A followed by a 1/4 symbol for ü, etc.

    • Yup, after extensive testing, changing the inherent shĂŻp's AI to 3 (warship) definitely fixes the problem. I am assuming interceptor will also be ok, although I haven't tried it.

      Hopefully, 1.0.9 fixes this issue.

      Sorry about that. AFAIK, I thought all browsers/platforms could understand it due to ISO/UNICODE.

      This assumption is due to the fact that windows users can see my macintosh created accents, umlauts, chinese characters, etc. via AIM.

      Oh well, so much for IEEE compatibility.

      Chinese/Japanese/Korean characters would most likely be handled by Big5/GB code rather than Unicode. Even so, Windows XP users must install the East Asian language packs before they can correctly see those characters.

      Anyways, interesting info. I'll remember that when I set up dudes/ships.
