    • Removing Plug-ins

I haven't read everything here yet so forgive me if this has been asked already.

If I remember correctly EVC replaced the original data with data from plugins so that if a plugin changed something in the games and then you removed that from the plugins folder it would skrew up the game and you would have to re-download EV to get the original game back. I am trying to find out if this is true with EVN but different people give me different answers. So, if you know for sure (by trying it first hand or something) can you please let me know if it will screw up the EVN to take the plugins out and put a different one in.

If I'm interpreting you correctly, no, it shouldn't mess up the EVN scenario to switch plugins. However, you have to keep separate pilot files for the different plugins you play: the game may behave erratically if you load a pilot from the default scenario into a plug, or vice-versa.

    • So, if I have PlugPackV16 and I make a copy of that EV Nova folder (the whole thing) then remove the pilot files and the plugins and put in a small plugin or a TC I won't have problems?

That was never a problem witht he original EV. True, plugin support wasn't added until 1.0.2 (at least, that's when I'm certain it was added - I skipped 1.0.1), but all you needed to do was to make sure you kept a copy of the original EV Data file around, you were good to go. No, unless you actually change the data file itself, you will never have problems with uninstalling plugins. If you modify the data file, it's harder to change back unless you have a copy of the installer around or unless you backed up the original data first.

    • right, but what if I don't keep a copy of the original data hanging around? I thought that I still had the .sit file on my computer, but I checked and it isn't there. So if I don't have the original data then can I do what I just mentioned in my last post?

    • Nope, you shouldn't have any at all. The only potential problem is if you take a mission, outfit, or ship from the plugin that does not exist in the game. This may corrupt your pilot , but that's all. If that happens, just drop the plugin in again, and get rid of the extra stuff.

Actually, it was, but only for a very limited number of resources. My original EV startup pic was replaced by one from a TC for a while, for example.

      Correct.
