    • Question: New Hypergate Graphics

Hello everyone. I have just designed a new hypergate and opening animation, but I'm not sure how to implement it into Nova with a plug-in. I know I have to put all the frames into the rleD resource for the hypergate, but how do I get certain ones to repeat like the original hypergate in the game? Thanks πŸ™‚

(url="http://"http://www.evula.org/barisaxguy5/Hypergate.gif")Here(/url) is an animation of the hypergate and the few frames I want to repeat.

      ------------------

    • From the Nova bible section on spΓΆbs:

      Quote

      CustPicID

      Which custom landscape to show
      128 and up
ID number of PICT to load instead of the standard landscape display

      less than 128
      No custom landscape

(Note: for animated hypergates, this field can be optionally used to set the index of the transition between the "opening/closing" animation and the "working" animation. Set to 0 to have the engine use the first half of the frames for "opening/closing" and the second half for "working".)

      Additionally, just FYI:

      Quote

      CustSndID

      Which ambient sound to play
      -1
      No ambient sound effect
      Anything else
ID number of snd resource to load

(Note: for hypergates and wormholes, this field serves a different purpose - it controls the angle at which ships emerge. Values between 0 and 359 specify an exact angle, while any other value specifies a random direction.)

    • Weepul, thank you for your prompt reply, I managed to get it in the game successfully with that help.

    • I've cleared a lot of replies out of this topic, if people are wondering. pipeline made a (probably unintentionally) inflammatory statement and it got a bit out of hand... move along please. πŸ™‚

I guess I missed the excitement. Glad I was actually helpful, and not a part of it, though. πŸ˜‰

I dunno. It's new. It's fresh. I like it. I'm sorry, pipeline, I'm switching out all of Nova's default hypergates for Ragashingo's ;).

Hehe. Either you are insane you're on drugs, you're an alchoholic, or you're joking. I'm betting the last one.

No, actually all I wanted to do was quickly make a circle. I didn't see a circle tool in Photoshop so I quit it and used Apple Works and its spray can tool.

Yeah, in Photoshop that gets complicated. I'm still waiting for an approach that doesn't involve inverting a circular selection and changing the hue/saturation and brightness/contrast...

Weepul: Eh? And what else would it be? Oh, okay, I suppose that maybe insanity is one possibility...

Why can't you just go to the ellipse tool and hold shift while using?
