    • Help With Strata 3D 3.0

I'm trying to get ahold of a registered copy of the Strata 3D 3.0 preferences. My computer crashed not too long ago and when I re-installed Strata off of my MacAddict cd today it wouldn't allow me to register online anymore (also when I tried to go to Strata's site it was gone). If anyone can give me a link to download just the preferences or email them to me (reply to this and I'll send you my email address to send them to) I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

    • I'm sorry, but they don't want you to use this free version anymore. People here used to distribute pref files, but do not do any longer. You can try installing a newer demo, that is alas more limited.

      The (url="http://"https://secure.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/store/hazel.cgi?action=serve&item;=breakdown.html&BREAKDOWN;_SKUID=1480")Ambrosia Mac CD(/url) with other registrations - 5$. Paying for (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/evn/")EV Nova(/url) as it's such a great game - 30$.
The (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/evn/tshirts.html")1337 EV Nova T-shirt(/url)(url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum25/HTML/000003.html#ZachaPedro05-18-200409:42AM") (/url) - 22$. The (url="http://"http://w00tware.ev-nova.net/")NovaTools(/url) by wOOtWare to tinker with your Nova - FREE!
The feeling you're a Nova geek - priceless.
There are things money can't buy or that are free, for everything else, there's indeed Mastercard.

    • Yeah, my pref files used to be available for download around these here parts but after hanging around the Stratacafe a bit I decided to remove that offer (and request that anyone who has a copy of my prefs doesn't onward distribute them). Sorry if this puts you out man, but I'm no longer comfortable with it.

    • We're in the same boat, man. My computer with strata died and now I'm confined to 3.5 . It doesn't have a lot of the cooler features, but it's better than nothing :frown:

      ------------------

    • Hmm...Well thanks anyways guys. If anyone out there is willing to send me a copy and just doesn't want to make a public deal out of it you can email me at c_newhall@earthlink.net. I guess if I really have to I can use Hotline or Carracho to download the full thing but 17 mb isn't a fun download when you have a 56k connection. I don't support pirating or anything but I feel like if I was a fully legal registered user at some point in time I'm not doing anything wrong trying to get my copy working again. So yeah if anyone has their own copy of the preferences send it to me please. And respect Jules or anyone who asked you not to distribute theirs.

    • Whoa. I just installed 3.5 base and now I'm begging someone to help me with the preferences for 3.0. The base version doesn't let you snap objects together, subtract, extrude, or any of that important stuff. I'm currently working on a 2 year degree in genereal engineering so with all the time I'm putting into AutoCad I've learned to live with that stuff (Which I would buy if I had a couple hundred bucks lying around. I wish college didn't drain me of all my money....)

      ------------------

    • Ah come on somebody. Someone out there should be able to help me. You don't even have to reply to this and let people know you are doing it. Just email me (c_newhall@earthlink.net) the prefs and I wont tell anybody you did. It's not like I want to use this for something commercial that could potentially get you into trouble. I just want to play around with it and work on the skills I'm going to need for my degree. Please?

    • No. Strata no longer supports this version, and thus, neither do we.

However, the latest version is awesome, and the (url="http://"http://shop.strata.com/Product.cfm?Product=83")Strata 3.9 demo(/url) is fully featured. You're limited to thirty days, but hey, it's a demo. If you want free, look into something else. I plan to review a bunch of free ones I found, I'll post whenever I get that done.

Oh, and Strata has an academic discount, if you want to give that a shot. 😉
