    • KeyCarried Ships

I was looking over the EVN Bible (oh most holy of relics) trying to figure out how the KeyCarried Ship works and what it does. So far all I have is the following:

      (list=a)
() Having a KeyCarried Ship on board can change the look of your ship.
      (
) Not having a KeyCarried Ship on board can prevent you from firing a weapon.
      (/list=a)

The KeyCarried Ship would be an ammo-type outfit for a carried ship-type weapon.

Is this all a KeyCarried Ship does? Does anyone have any additional insight?

    • Yeah, that's pretty much it. You can probably come up with other uses for it on your own though (eg. preventing an escape from launching as an escort).

    • I thought that it could be used to modify the look of a carrier when it did/did not have any fighters on deck?

I saw that thread as well (on preventing an escape pod from launching as an escort). This could be done with any carried ship, not just a KeyCarried Ship. The KeyCarried Ship just allows the look of the abandoned ship to change after you have launched.

    • I meant by using B. that you mentioned. Set the keycarried to some ship that you can't obtain as a fighter and then the weapon to only fire while keycarried is aboard and then you'll never be able to fire it. This was mentioned by Zzap212 in that thread.

    • You can make (or at least, give the impression to make) more powerful thing with it, such as a ship that can split in two (it just gives the impression it splits: you launch the keycarried, and the whole section of you ship that looked like it is gone, you don't see it anymore), and when you launch it you lose the possibility to launch the weapons it supposedly has when it is attached to your ship, and you can give the actual keycarried the same weapons, less the super heavy weapon that has such a power requirement that you can only launch it when the two are together. 😉 The possibilities are numerous.
