Starfleet Adventures v0.1a3.0
A Total Conversion For Escape Velocity: Nova
By John "Uncle Twitchy" Mietus
Requirements
Escape Velocity Nova v. 1.0.7 (recommended - will work with 1.0.6)
Minimum monitor resolution of 1024x768 recommended.
Installation
1. Be sure you have downloaded all eight files (url="http://"ftp://ftp.ambrosiasw.com/pub/evn/plugins/1SFA_va3.0.sit.bin")1SFA_va3.0,(/url)(url="http://"ftp://ftp.ambrosiasw.com/pub/evn/plugins/2SFA_va3.0.sit.bin") 2SFA_va3.0,(/url) (url="http://"ftp://ftp.ambrosiasw.com/pub/evn/plugins/3SFA_va3.0.sit.bin")3SFA_va3.0,(/url) (url="http://"ftp://ftp.ambrosiasw.com/pub/evn/plugins/4SFA_va3.0.sit.bin")4SFA_va3.0,(/url) (url="http://"ftp://ftp.ambrosiasw.com/pub/evn/plugins/5SFA_va3.0.sit.bin")5SFA_va3.0,(/url) (url="http://"ftp://ftp.ambrosiasw.com/pub/evn/plugins/6SFA_va3.0.sit.bin")6SFA_va3.0,(/url) (url="http://"ftp://ftp.ambrosiasw.com/pub/evn/plugins/7SFA_va3.0.sit.bin")7SFA_va3.0(/url) and (url="http://"ftp://ftp.ambrosiasw.com/pub/evn/plugins/8SFA_va3.0.sit.bin")8SFA_va3.0.(/url)
2. Move all the files in the Put In Nova Files folders from the 2SFA_va3.0, 3SFA_va3.0, 4SFA_va3.0, 5SFA_va3.0, 6SFA_va3.0, 7SFA_va3.0 and 8SFA_va3.0 folders into the Nova Files folder in the 1SFA_va3.0 folder.
3. Create a folder to place your original Nova Files and Pilots folders and move those folders into that folder (I recommend naming the folder Original Files).
4. Move the Nova Files and Pilots folders from the 1SFA_va3.0 folder, as well as the new blank pilotlog.txt and debuglog.txt files to the EV Nova folder.
5. Run EV Nova.
It is recommended that your resolution be set to a minimum of 1024 x 768 -- otherwise, the Cargo section of the interface bar will be obscured. While it is not necessary -- very rarely does transporting cargo ever enter into the scenario -- it will give you the full interface bar.
What It Does
This is a conversion of Escape Velocity Nova to the Star Trek universe -- specifically, to the Star Trek universe during the 30-year career of James T. Kirk as commanding officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. This incomplete version does not yet contain storyline missions, though some resources related to those missions do exist.
Still To Do
Dëscs a-plenty, news items, and some miscellaneous strings.
More basic missions (probably need to rewrite a number of them, actually), including planetary medical emergencies and more diplomatic missions.
Still plenty of systems which are lacking their necessary spöbs.
Writing the storyline missions.
Known Issues
If it shows up in the debuglog.txt file or the Starfleet Adventures - Known Bugs thread at (url="http://"http://www.ev-nova.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4908")http://www.ev-nova.n...opic.php?t=4908(/url), I know about it. No need to report it.
Some officers don't cancel, resulting in stacking officers
A number of planetary descriptions are cut-and-pasted from the Encyclopedia II -- they subsequently are nothing more than laundry-list descriptions and need to be rewritten. Many of them are too long and exceed the text box size.
Inherent ship oütfs don't appear in the Requisition window properly.

Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes. They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses
And what's with all the carrots? What do they need such good eyesight for, anyway?
Bunnies -- bunnies -- it must be bunnies... or maybe midgets
