    • Weird Hired Escort Problem

I've created a small TC (15 systems), and everything was working reasonably well until suddenly, if I hire more than 2 escorts, the extra escorts spin around behind me whenever I turn, flickering in and out of existence, giving me (the player) mild seizures. I'm not sure how to describe it better than that. I don't know if this is a graphics problem or what. I'm using only graphics that came with the game, and it doesn't seem to matter which kind of escort I'm using. All other ships look perfectly normal. Anyone have any experience with this?

    • I have no concrete ideas as to the cause, but the first thing that comes to mind is the AI settings. Is it possible that they're the problem? Also, I don't think it's the graphics at all.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

    • What ships are you using? Do they have cloaking devices in their outfitting/settings? Do you?

I mention this because it sounds as if they're cloak-capable ships that can't decide whether to cloak or decloak. This is behavior I've seen with cloak-capable escorts. From your description, this is the best I can theorize.

      "MISSILE SELF-DESTRUCT ACTIVATED: 5... 4... 3..."
"... Of course, I could be wrong..." - Me.

When your escorts are covered by an area cloak, they blink in and out. That may have something to do with it.

    • No one has any cloak capability. It's not like they're fading in and out. It's like their just flickering in a strobe light.

    • Any chance the shan is looking for non-existant banking graphics? That can cause some strange effects.

    • What is the inherent AI of the escort ships? It has to be one of the normal AIs (1-4). If you set it to, say 6 (escort) then you'd have problems.

    • Okay. It just went away, all by itself. I have no idea what made it happen. The escort AI was normal. I guess just a temporary game bug.
