is there a rescource that controls hectors apperance? is there a way i can get him to appear with a plugin? (i have done it before, but it must have been some kind of bug or glitch because it only happened once, and i can't reproduce the effect)

Cunjo: No, in EVN, hector is created dynamically using internal strength calculations on all of the weapons. And in earlier versions of Nova, there were bugs in which certain plugins would trigger the re-appearance of the daemonic parrot of death, unexpectedly. These should have since been fixed.

'Tis impossible to tell, because as I mentioned earlier, hector is generated dynamically based on the relative strengths and such. Plus, the longer you go without registering, the more weapons that bitch-parrot gets.

IIRC, Hector is the name of Ambrosia Software's mascot, an african-grey parrot that likes to bite people. This is why Matt programed Cap'n Hector into the game as EV Classic's shareware enforcer. It was after this that ASW learned that Hector the Parrot was a female african-grey.

Has anyone ever done a "space parrot" plug, for any of the EV games? I searched the web for usable 3D models of parrots in flight a while back -- for a flapping animated sprite, don'cha know -- but didn't find anything at the time....

Wow... Hector D. Byrd is my new hero. That is absolutely hilarious... poor Fedex guy. But the reference to him throwing peanuts explains the "Hector Birdseed Cannon" example in the Bible!
In any case, Dr. Trowel, I could have sworn I heard something about a Space Parrot plugin a long time ago, but I'm not sure if it was made or meerly a question.
Oh, BTW, I've never seen EVN's Hector, but he apparently uses a Starbridge. My question is which shän resource does Nova look at to determine what he's in? Although, I suppose it's pointless.... even if you made a plug with a space parrot graphic to replace Hector, you would have to register to use it, and then no more Hector... I miss the days of EVC and EVO, where you could just edit the Hector pers- nothing funnier than a super fast shuttle buzzing around shooting you with a single laser cannon...
