    • A Question about lasers

      I want to change the laser color from orange to Green. Can I make all of the lasers green or do you have to do them one by one? (like each gun has its own laser size... Do I have to 'color' each laser type?) Or am I not understanding? Has anyone ever done this? Could anyone give me a hand?

      I think you're going to have to change each beam color.

      While it could be EVO's Blaze Cannons, I'm assuming he means Nova's Blasters. You first have to extract the sprites from the rleD and rle8 resources, you then bring them into photoshop to change the colors, and recompress them into rles for use.

      You must extract the sprites for each size blaster (using DERLE on a mac, EVNEW on PC), then edit them in photoshop or your editor of choice. Then use EnRLE or EVNEW as appropriate to turn them back into RLE's.
      The whole process isnt too painful, sice both En/DeRLE and EVNEW can do batch exports. For shots especially, the hue adjust makes the photoshop/editing step really easy.

      Yeah, I can do all the photoshop stuff.. Its just that I am not to sure with the EnRLE part. :S Could anyone give me a hand? Or is it that easy? I have mac os x only... And cant run Resedit. Can I just use EnRLE and MC?

      The accompanying apps (EnRle/DeRle, ConText/ResStore, BlitZen, Mish/Mash, etc.), unlike NovaTools, run natively in OS X.

      EnRLE is pretty easy. Not quite as robust as i would like it to be (EVNEW's RLE editor is actually better in a few ways), but it gets the job done for almost all purposes.

      You can use MC and En/DeRLE instead of resedit and EnDeRLE.
