i kno they r not going to make a evn2 or a next ev, but are they goint to keep comming out with updates? Are they planning on making an official plug-in maker, because that is one of the ways they plan to make this game last without any sequals?

this does have to do with developing cuz i think people would like to know if ambrosia is comming out with an official plug-in maker.

Well, in a way , NovaTools is sort of an official plug-in maker. After all, that's what ATMOS used...

But to answer your questions, they will release updates if they are needed, and they will not make an official plug-in maker.

EV Nova is the third EV (The first two were EV (now called EVC) and EV: Override). There will not be a fourth EV, atleast within the forseeable future. EVN is far from matured - the brilliant plugin authors here have enough features to play with to keep them making new and exiting plugins for years.

They are going to keep making bug fixes as long as it is nessesary. There is definately going to be a 1.0.8 because a nest of bugs that have been around for a long time were unearthed within a week of 1.0.7's release. I have seen the great Matt Burch mention that He has fixed some bugs, which indicates beyond a reasonable doubt that a patch incorperating these fixes will be released.

NovaTool/Resedit is the closest there will be to an official plugin editor. The fancier editors have always been made by the EV community, not by Ambrosia.

ATMOS definately used Novatools. I think they contacted the people who are now W00tware (Ralph and Rodger Sutherland) and asked for thier help making an editor, because the complexity of nova was such that simply using the resedit templates just wasnt enough.

The thing is, it is extremely unlikely that we will see an EV4 anytime soon. Eventually, prehapse.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of a fourth EV, but equally I wouldn't rate it's likelihood. We'll have to see if Matt Burch changes his mind in the future.

Considering that EVN was originally a TC for EVO, I'd just like to encourage everybody to try to make their TCs the best they can be, because you never know what they might become...

But yeah, dream on.

Let's face it, EVN will have the most updates than the others in the EV trilogy simply because Nova is the most sophistocated game, so of course the game will more likely have bugs in it.

Knowing that everybody at ASW and ATMOS said that there will never be any online multiplayer EV, I can guarantee you that it'll never happen.

I, to be personally honest, have always been curious as to why there is no EV4 at least in the sense that it will be developed, not that it might possibly be developed.

I've never heard Burch's opinion on this, but, from a previous post, apparently he has some sort of opinion as to the possibility of an EV4.

Anybody mind filling me in?

Oh, MokiCo routinely denies that there will ever be a sequel to EV...andrew denied there would ever be an EV2, then denied there would ever be an EV3...but once you play the storylines, you'll see that ATMOS has left themselves a few threads to work with...coughshardwarcough
