I wrote some old plugins for EV like three years ago, none of them amazingly good. The part I like best is writing good storylines- and EVN is far better than EV for that.

Long story short, if anyone is working on a large plug or TC and would rather not write all the mission descs, or wants someone to give them a good plot bunny (I'm just relearning the code, and when I see things like new challange I balk in fear ;-), email or leave a message here.

I'll be in the market for a writer down the road. Keep in mind it could be a while but I'm sure everyone here that's half-way interested would appreciate an example of your writing. It's hard to "hire" someone without knowing what their work is like.

Are you serious? Dude, you already have like 5 people writing! You gonna go to the 1000 mission limit or something?

Sorry, but I'm writing them all myself. (Very often, I have been told (or overheard) that I am an excellent writer. Plus, I'd rather have all the text written in the same style, and as you may know, everyone has different styles. It's great that you took the initiative though!)

I'm not aiming for that, but the mission writing for SS is particularly difficult. And right now, we only have 3 writers total- myself included, and I'm doing a major portion of the resource work as well. Just the way the missions are structured requires quite a bit of repetition and creative use of NCB's- we may very well hit 1000, not by trying, but out of necessity, unfortunately. The good thing is that our team structure makes it quite easy for new members to get integrated, or leave if they flake.

That, and I think writing is what makes or breaks a plug, so I always take people up on offers to do it- having a different writing style for each major plotline adds an interesting twist, don't you think?

This would be a good time to apologize to Masamune for my lack of activity recently. Despite my best efforts, school does take up a significant chunk of my time, and I want to be fully acquainted with the SS universe before writing anything of importance. I will take the time to catch up during my Thanksgiving break, and yes, this is important to me.

Writing is always fun, and with the advent of EVN's scrolling text windows, it's become much less restrictive. I wish you good fortune no matter who you offer your services to.

Actually, it never was restrictedall you had to do was modify the DITL and DLOG (recentering) resources to fit it, and you're fine. Of course, there were other restrictions (couldn't (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/004810.html")use fleets in missions(/url), for example ;))
