Anybody working on a stock market plug? I think Lodestone in the Fire system mentions BH Billington stock sells high on the Nikkei so there could be a plug and not a creation out of whole cloth.
Lots of companies,potential stock issuers and playing the market is, IMHO, perhaps more fun than gambling on the GRN.

How would you have this plugin work? I don't see how the EVN engine can really be adapted to having anything like an interesting or realistic stockmarket simulation.

Forgive my ignorance, but I think it would be relitavely easy... the stocks would be a junk resource that could be sold at any exchange in the Federation... but can junk resources be affected globally instead of on each planet? And can they be affected by crons and bits that it would be intresting to "play?"
I think the junk resource fully supports the buying, and the exchange is the perfect place, I'm just not too sure about the engine.

Don't Oops resources work on Junks? If so, that would do the trick. When I get my laptop back (my baby) I'm definately going to check it out. A stock market system would be PERFECT for SS.

Hell, since SS runs on a series of crons that tell it what time it is, I could probably use non-oops'd junks, and just determine ahead of time how the different stocks rise and fall. With enough of them, who's going to remember between play throughs that Mitsuhonda stock triples between 2207 and 2212?

If you can use oops's to change the prices of dudes, then this is really easy and quite cute. If not, you can use crons for it to change between planets with high price and low price.;

Anyhow, that sounds like a cool idea. The hard part is fitting it into the TA universe. Perhaps if I have some businessman tell you he's planning a stock market for UE (human) space in a mission or something...jots down notes
