Ok, so I was going to make some plug-ins, so I started up EVONE. Then EVONE goes all crazy. So I say to myself:"What the heck, lets use MissionComputer." I start MissionComputer, everything works well, save my plug, try it out, but it doesn't do as I told it to do. I look back to my plug on MissionComputer, and what do I see? almost every checkbox and number is changed. I say, ok, now we use the heavy stuuf, I start up Resedit, and try to edit the spöb resource (most problems with that). But all I get is some weird numbers and stuff. Now what's strange is that it worked fine yesterday. All three of them.
So my question is: What the heck is going on?? This really pisses me off since I have nothing better to do then make plug-ins

    • Virus maybe?

"How can I make it go faster?" -Me-

    • Nop, dont think so. I didn't downloaded anything, didn't check my emails, and everything else is working just fine.

    • Sounds like your file got corrupted (to state the obvious) by some unknown force. I once had a similar corruption problem, where some of the reseouces got completely f***ed up (a large portion of the outfit descs I had made) such that they hand lengths of like 78mb. First i saw of this was when i tried to convert yo .rez and it spat out a 300mb file after sitting for 5 minutes. And i couldnt delete the offending resources (out of memory). Wound up having to make a new plug, and c+p all the undamaged stuff out. I havnt been doing anything differently now, but it hasnt happened since.

Were you trying to work on the same plug with all three programs? if so, mabey one bad thing happened to the plug that messed up all the programs.

    • Yup, I was working on one plug with the three programs, but what can I do about it? Reinstall the ****?

    • Can you make new plugins with these programs without problems?
If you can make and edit new plugins without problems, i would do what I did when my plug got corrupted: make a new plug, and copy any undammaged data over. And resolve to back up more.

    • I was able to do that, but now not anymore (in ResEdit, I can whith EVONE and MC).

Well, the thing with a bunch of numbers can be fixed by pasting the Novatools templates into your plugin, so that it knows what to do. I'm not sure why just installing them doesn't work, but it doesn't. You did install Novatools, right?

    • I had ResEdit, but it didn't work, so I reinstalled it, but now I can't open the preference file no more, cause it is corrupt.

EDIT: Ok, ResEdit is working again, and I installed Novatools, but there isn't a spöb or a syst resource. How comes?

    • I have absolutely no clue what's up with EVOne (though it doesn't work for me either...), but for ResEdit, the problem is you HAVE TO HAVE THE TEMPLATES FILE OPEN so that it knows what the editor should look like.

(Etemology is defined as the study of insects.) (Or was it just bugs in general?)

    • I personally avoid using multiple programs. I strictly use ResEdit and NovaTools myself (since it is theoretically bug free 😉 ). When I do decide to open my plugs in MissionComputer I'll back up my work and then open it. Remember to do this so that you can save a lot of wasted time and aggrivation in the future.

    • Oh, the templates must be open. I didn't know that. Ok, I'll do that.
And getcrack4me, normally, I don't use multiple programs either, and, I will never do that again 😄
