I've downloaded Novatools and resedit. I was easily able to unzip Novatools with stuffit, but I can't use it for Resedit. It's in the sea.bin. format. What do I need to open it?

Stuffit should unpack the .bin format... Then, you can just double-click the .sea file.

I'll explain the problem:
Suppose that you've just created a graphic for a ship - or an asteroid, or an animated planet/station. You've got You're nice little images in a grid, and you place them in your plugin, and make the shans. You then export the plugin to windows, convert, and lo-and-behold... nothing happens. Pics are supposedly supported by nova for animations - in in the EVN Bible - but actually they're not.
If you want them to work, you have to convert them to RLE8/RLED format.
Catch is, the program that does this only works on a PowerPc Mac. Which cant be emulated on windoze.
There was an elusive persona, by the handle of Vaumnou, who was workning on a program to allow this to be done on wondows. He is now desaparecido.
Ergo, we can play around, and make cheats and missions, but never any graphics.
Seeing as that's what I like best, that's quite a bummer.

This is probably a stupid question, but how do you unlock the drive folders from the Mac OS? OS8 boots up properly, but when I try to copy files to the OS8 disk, it says "You cannot copy the selected files onto the disc MacOS8, because the disk is locked".
I've done everything as specified in Kplu's instructions.

:redface: Thanks. Now I have another prob: whenever I try to run a program, an error comes up saying: "Sorry, an error occured while opening the monitor tool (ID -3)". Is there a way to fix this?

Cool guide. I only noticed this after I went and did it all myself!
Note: You can set up a hard drive right in basilisk - it's in the drives tab of the gui program. Also in the GUI program you can click on the "my computer" tab and set up you PC's hard drive as a network disk. Makes getting files into your "Mac" easy. Too bad appletalk isn't emulated yet - I'd love to share printers, CDs, and drives with my real quadra.
Question: Has anyone found a good converter to make the EVO plugs compatible with the EVO Nova port? Everything that I've looked at so far requires a powerPC.

I only had the monitor tool error when trying to run nova, the tools work fine for me, ill just play nova on windows. I have no idea what it means but I am assuming it has something to do with graphics, maybe a color problem, or resolution? its probably the fact that your not acutally using a macintosh machine so there would be some bugs of the sort.

There is a patch for basilisk II, the Build 143 Gamma Ramp patch that was made to let EVN run on the emulator, that may make EV Nova run without errors. But i suspect it would be so slow that it would be more efficiant time wise to shut down the emu, run the plug your making on the windows version of nova, and then restart the emu to make any changes needed.

No, but you can convert the plugs manually. Simply copy and past the resources from the EVO plug to a blank EVN plug and bam! instant plug.
Now there are a few exceptions. For instance new ship graphics won't work 'cause EVN uses a different resource (rleD and rle8 I think).
