Changed Nova Weapons Quite A Bit

Since i found out how easy Flags were i have been modifying the weapons from Nova Data 4. I made it so the Polaron Multi-Torpedoes now split off into 20 different torpedoes. And those torpedoes that were just created split off into 20 more ect. But i made it so it only splits 10 times. (Thats a lotta torpedoes!) I made the winter tempest turreted and made it so you can fire it whilst cloaked. And it doesnt take up fuel anymore. Hehe. Of course im not going to be using these because i feel that they are cheap and should not be used. But i know everyone else likes them so im going to make a Weapons Pack soon. All are going to be Uber Cheap weapons! Woo Hoo! Also Uber Kool!

And... where else would i post it? This is the development board. Where people tell what their developing and such.Duh. But if you dont agree with me, try to ask a mod to lock this post.
EDIT:Oh and the Winter Tempest Turret has almost unlimited range, one tap of the button instantly disabling people and it comes complete with 10000 marines. And its way more fun firing when its cloaked. They dont know who is disabling them all.

Ok, i think the Winter Tempest Turret should be released right now! After i fix the bugs... Wait there are no bugs. But one thing thats weird, you have to drag the file to Nova Files and drop instead of Nova Plugins. Anyone know why? This plug is the ultimate cheat to get the best fleets ever. And the best thing is... It costs 0 credits haha obviously. If anyone wants it E-Mail me at Sephiroth_Nova@hotmail.com

You've edited a data file, right ?
Look, his type is set to Ndät, And Nova only open the Npďf files in the plugin folder, and Ndät, Ngr,... (the four different type of files used by Nova) in the Dat files.
This is what you'll do:
Select ResEdit
Open the "File" menu, select "File/folder info ..."
In the area called type, type Npďf (the ¨ is option U, type i after, and you get ď)
Check that the creator is Növä.
The plugin will work.

Tekk: The main point of a game is to be a challenge, I believe your plug would remove all challenge. Would you consider perhaps ballancing it out? Or maybe we should consider weather the add on section should be... ahh, clogged with smaller plugs that merely customise a few things, EVula has a fairly hard time of it already. If you feel it's nescassary, by all means go ahead, but just take into account the allready filled nature of the plug section. Maybe a better solution is to have a link in your sig for people to email you, requesting the plug. This kinda thing is good for practicing using the editors, but really, anyone with nova tools and five minutes can cook up an equivalent. Congratulations for producing a plug, but just think as to weather it requires sharing with the whole community.

By all means it's your choice... But just have a think about it first.

Well... Now that i think about it i didnt really need to post this thread. But i was also asking a question about why it wouldnt work in the plugins folder. Fortunately, someone answered this. Oh and i dont have a webpage to put my plugins on. I will try to make it work in the plugins folder now. I wont post another one like this.

Cheat plug-ins are nothing new, and what you're describing doesn't sound too unique either. The thing is, most people don't like them, or if they do, they can make their own easily enough. If everybody that made one also posted a topic about it, this forum would be pretty filled up with cheat plug announcements.

Next time just post your question, and people will be a lot more helpful and friendly.

Anyway, good start! Cheat plugs are a great way to get started in editing. I made a few cheat plugs myself to take advantage of the new features when Nova first came out, just so that I could get used to them. A ränk that pays you a lot of cash, a disabling/ionizing point defense lightning beam, a fully-loaded cloaking device, etc., etc., etc. Lots of fun for a few minutes, but not much for a real game.

Indeed, just so.

Insane recursive submunitions cause Nova to crash due to a variety of reasons (mostly that they quickly exceed the maximum allowable shots on screen), so Matt corrected the engine to remove that bug.
