    • [EVN 1.0.6] A.I. Behavior Problem

Okay, I can't tell if it's because something has caused the A.I. to change somewhere between 1.0.2 and 1.0.6, but for some reason I cannot get any "pirating" gövt ships to blow up their prey after boarding and raiding them -- I used to be able to do this. Any thoughts?

    • I've noticed they take the ships as escorts, or at least make them transfer their allegiance to the pirating government, which seems to be a more sensible way of doing things, but potentially inconvenient for a plug I guess. What effect are you trying to achieve?

    • Enemy ship disables you. Plunders you. Turns around and destroys you.

They used to do this. Now they don't. I want them to still do this. Grr. Argh.

I'd hazard a guess that this is a deliberate change to the game balance. Before, there was very rarely any difference between someone who destroyed you, and someone who robbed you and then destroyed you. It's possible that they wanted features such as requesting help and the repair droids to be a bit more useful.

Correct. We wanted pirate to be pirates. That is, steal your money but leave you alive to make more money for them to steal. 🙂

    • So this was deliberate?

Well, damn. There go the Ferengi.

There wouldn't be any harm if you made that feature optional. Like make it so that the developers can make a ship or govt. steal and runaway or steal and kill the player.
