hey i didnt want to post this as a reply on the last topic its i dunno i guess a little different. i made my plug and just about everything works fine but under the sh¨i p( how do u get those dots over them?) the free mass field is set at 150 tons. i have all the weapons i typed in the weapons fields(5 proton turrets,1 tractor beam, 8 mantas with 2 bays, and 2 lightnings ith one bay.) they all launched fine and worked well but i dont have that 150 tons i wanted extra. i opened up the resource again checked he field and it came out fine but it still didnt work. i was wondering wut i cud do so i dont make the same mistake in the future so i dont have to keep posting topics on how to fix plugins. im using EVclassic if u hadnt already guess. i wanted to start simple before i do somework with nova. Can anyone help me or suggest something ? greatly appreciated.

Okay: How does one get the stupid dots over them? As far as i know, you dont (atleast not on the boards). Even in the Bible, they usually dont put the dots in except in the headings for each resource type.

On the extra mass:
That is a very odd thing. You sure it wasnt entered in the mass or cargo field? It's been so long since i've played with EVC that I dont remember any other issues (There may be some). I never remember having any problems with this sort of thing on EVC (though i could never get much to work then, largely because i was using EVEdit). In your new ship, press p to get your stats and see if there is something that shouldnt be set to 150 (indicating you put the 150 in the wrong field - a kind of mistake i have made, and spent longer than i should have debugging)

On your topic line: I second Mazca. "Problems with EVC ship resource" would be much better at steering people who could help you to the topic.

Capitolizing the first letter of a sentence, small as it may sound, makes it alot easier for people to track what you are saying. Punctuation is also a very friendly thing, and i highly reccomend using commas and these things " ' " (I forget the name - i never got good grammer classes) where appropriate.

Anyway, EVSuper, the engines of Classic and Nova are pretty different. Not completely but there were a lot of changes made in the time between the two. If your goal is to make Nova plugs then I'd say go ahead and jump right into it. There are plenty of simple changes you can do in Nova to learn the new system. Some things in Classic may not be valid anymore in Nova so learning them is just a waste of time if you don't plan on actually making plugs for Classic. And since Classic has been ported to Nova, doing anything with Classic is almost archaic at this point (unfortunate for those that haven't upgraded to Nova). Also, Classic isn't necessarly any simpler than Nova. They're both still very similar so it won't be like graduating to a higher programming language or anything. There's just more options is all.
