    • Scan mask questions and b3004

I have two questions regarding scan masks, and one query regarding b3004. I recently (yesterday) began to get back to work on the update to "Where can I buy...?" I am currently doing the jünks, and adding in scan masks. My first scan mask question is more of a clarification. For the purposes of my guide, I am defining a Scan Mask to mean "that if a ship of that gövt with an A.I. of Interceptor scans you, you will be attacked by that ship." Is this a correct or an incorrect definition? (Yes, I did check "The Nova Bible," but I am still not completely sure I understand the definition. I want to be completely sure about this defiinition.)

My second question regarding Scan Masks also is a clarification. Am I correct that if a gövt has the scan masks of, say A and 4, that either A and not 4 or 4 and not A or A and 4 will each lead to an positive scan? (I.e., for multiple scan masks checks for a gövt, do they all have to match in an oütf or a jünk for a scan). Having read the relevant portion of "The Nova Bible", I believe the answer to be that either portion can lead to a positive scan. Again, I want to be sure.

My final question concerns b3004, which controls the apperance of certain s˙sts. What sets b3004? I have checked all mďsns that I thought might do it (and some cröns as well), but I have not yet found it. Could someone please tell me what sets b3004?

To whomever answers these questions, goes credit for answering them in the update version of my guide.

      Thanks,

    • In you definition you should mention that you get legally penalized SmugPenalty amount and fined ScanFine credits/percentage of your cash (both from gövt resource).

Yes, ANY ScanMask bits that are set in both the junk/misn and the govt will make a cargo illegal.

      EVN Resource Bible:

If any of the 1 bits in a government's
ScanMask field match any of the 1 bits in a mission's ScanMask field, that
government will consider the mission's cargo illegal. Set to zero if unused.

About b3004, I have no clue, sorry.
