    • EVO Galaxy Replacer


      Just under 170 systems have been completed. This mostly consists of UE and renegade space, and the plug is coming on quite nicely.

      Since I'm putting the Frozen Heart project on hold (or possible death), I can commit more time to this project.

      I need another programmer to come in with me at this point. At the moment, I need someone to make up descriptions of new planets and systems for the universe. Hey, if you have any good ideas for a planet description or whatever, based roughly on the EVO universe, send them to pistman1@yahoo.co.uk

      In a few weeks time I will also need a mission programmer, as the magnitude of making missions for Voinians, UE, Stellar Corp, the strands, Miranu and renegades is just too much for me.

      Youre making missions for UE, Voinians, Stellar Corp., Miranu and Strands? Awesome, more missions are always good.

      But theres many more missions to be expanded on! <evil grin> Frontier Express, Free Huron, Needle Jammer, Anna Balishova, Emalgha, NT and ST Renegades, Zachit, and Hinvar.

      Edit- oh, and Cure for New Calcutta and Kirrim Prime ski resort.

    • I did in fact explain this some time ago.

      EVO Galaxy Replacer uses the ships, weapons, governments ect from EVO, but will have new systems, planets, storylines and missions.

      Also, I cannot expand on ANY of those suggestions, as none of them exist in my plug (except maybe the needle jammer)

      There is no Huron system, Hinwar, Emalgha, North or South tips, or anything that defines the EVO universe from the EVOGR one.

      Now it's 200 systems, and I'm still doing UE space. Of course, not all of those are inhabited, in fact only about half are, but they're still counted as UE or renegade 'space', as the respective government's ships will go through those systems.

      By the way, I think some people are gonna get a bit of a surprise when they play it. But seriously though, I REALLY need another programmer. Now. Please.

      This project will collapse under its own weight if I don't get help.

      No, what I mean is that the storylines will differ from those of the standard EVO missions. For instance, I may include a string where, say, the Azdgari fight United Earth. They won't be stuck onto the original ideas of Peter Cartwright, bless him.

      No, I don't think you understand wherecoming from. I haven't added onto the EVO galaxy, I've deleted it and started again. EVERY system is new, there is no Huron, Gadzair ect.
      I've totally started again, with only the home systems (Voinia, Sol, Mirava ect) remaining in the game. There is no north or south tip, there isn't even a crescent. Strand space is now more of a sort of... well, a blob, rather than a crescent.

    • I've noticed a lack of interest in this plug-in. Trust me, it isn't just another empty promise, but is there any point in me doing this at all? It's going to take a lot of my time and if there's no demand for it, I'll dump and move on.

      Try posting a few opinions on it so I know where I stand.

    • Do NOT give up on this! From what you've told us, it seems to be going pretty well. If you do finish this, I'm positive that it will be quite popular.

      Don't stray too far from the original story lines. As simple as they were, they never got boring! EVER!
      Don't forget to put in those infinite "We're going to raid system blah blah" missions!

      Also, I'd gladly help, but unfortunately I have no time to completely commit myself to such a big task.

    • It is for the EVO engine, as no one has yet (as far as I know) to port EVO to Nova.

      I have thought about doing it for nova, but as there is no Developer's map for it (it's the only thing I work with when it comes to TC's) I'll have to wait until pontus gets his arse in gear.

      I could probably spellcheck when I have finished testing F-25 2.01. Finding typos doesnt sound lot of work. Ideas sounds easy too. But if its as large as F-25 missionwise, I wont test it. Creating new pilots each time you get a new beta, going trough the same intro missions again and again only to see if it was fixed, and to never get to finish strings (or even start some) because of new pilot creation is <censored>.

    • Either use the magma graphics or get someone else to do them for me.

      Thing is, I made a few variant ships of my own, to match the storyline. These are just basically EVO ships (can't say which ones at this stage) with some different colouring, but I wouldn't be able to modify the Magma graphics at all, so I may be forced to keep the original EVO graphics :eek:

      I will probably nick a sidebar graphic from somewhere though, and change all of the targets so they look like the nova ones (with the target generator that comes with MissionComp). Problem is, loads of ships in EVO don't have a shipyard pic... it would be okay for Igadzra aradas (I would just use the stock arada) but for the Voinian Dreadnought and possibly others...

      Some encouraging suggestions or help would be useful here. I never really thought of these problems beforehand.

      You make variant ships? I thought it would be in Nova only. Ah well, it adds a little variety (no pun intended). But it seems you just upgrade the graphics, not change the ships weapons, speeds, shields, armors, or outfits. And youre going to change the target graphic too!

    • I would do it for the nova engine, but I know EVO like the back of my hand... I can make galaxies and missions in about 5 minutes, whereas I'd need loads of practice with nova. The way to do that is through little plugs that get progressively bigger... if I tried to make a TC on nova right now it would fall apart before I got to to Miranu space.

      On that note, I haven't done any work on it for a week (busy), so after the easter holidays I'm back on the case.

    • I was going to do Voinian space, but I changed my mind and went south, straight into the Strands. This is just getting better and better (and bigger)...
