Beams do not require pictures , they are automaticlly generated by the engine.
Be sure to read the EVN Bible , its tells you what all the fields are for.

If you are talking about outfit pics, and if you dont have the skill to make Nova style outfit pics for your beam. Just hue one of the original beam outfit pics to a new color, there now that crown of thorns is firing a green tractor beam.

The flags are hex fields which do various different things. If you check the appropriate boxes in NovaTools, it will have that effect. The unused fields are just that - unused. Just leave those at 0 or -1 in the TMPLs. I would suggest you go to (url="http://"http://www.ev-nova.net/")www.ev-nova.net/(/url) and download NovaTools from the link on the main page. That is a graphical interface for Resedit, made by w00tware.

Also, I have a pic pasted for my plug, but how do I make it show up in the outfitter, and how do I get it to the right size(and hat is it)?
Also, how do I make a description for the outfit?

I can't help you with spďns right now, but outfits are pretty simple.
What you need is an oütf resource with the same ID as your wëap resource (your tractor beam). You need a PICT resource of your outfit that is 200 pixels by 200 pixels. NovaTools calculates the ID of the PICT resource you need*, so everything's pretty self-explanatory.
The oütf resource stores all the info concerning the outfit, such as the price, name, tech level, etc.
*beam weapons only need one picture - the one you see in the outfitters. I think the algorithm is "ID of oütf + 6000 - 128"
As for getting the picture to be the right size, you could use GraphicConverter, which is shareware... search for it on (url="http://"http://www.versiontracker.com")VersionTracker(/url). I haven't had much luck with it, however, because I stink at remembering where menu items are.
Descriptions are stored in the dësc resource, and the ID of which goes like this:
ID of oütf + 3000 - 128.

It seems to me that you are correct. I used several outfits (3 to be exact) to check, and each one worked.

Just click on the color box and then pick a color on the color wheel. Or are you not useing Novatools? Plus beams DON'T NEED a spin resource,
To post a plug you need web space and a way to upload a file onto it,. then you can just give us a link to it.
