      Eh?

Suddenly, the little scoutship disappeared and then reappeared right behind the alien warfleet. The gravitic ship's captain hailed the armada. "You are going to be destroyed, but I will give you a choice as to how you want to spend eternity: big pieces, little pieces, or quarks?"
      Dead silence.
      "Quarks it is, then."

    • I figured that was what it meant, but I must admit that I'm not up on my French -- better to ask the meaning of the question, than to reply to the wrong one.

Hrm. I don't have the time just right now to tell you about Ender's Game EVN, but don't worry yourselves about it, as soon as I get the chance, I'll be more than happy to tell you what I can scrounge up.

    • (off-topic)Ender's game EVN?

      I like that.

If you need any help with that, or are willing to listen to any more crazy ideas that-just-might-work, i'm your man.(/off-topic)

      Sephil is coming...

    • It was a plan to use something very similar to the Battleroom used to train combat cadets as described in Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. It was to be used in the Jovian mission string, as that string would involve the best tech, and therefore would need the best-trained pilots. Again, I'm a little short on time right now (it'll probably take me twenty to thirty minutes to describe the scenario in sufficient detail -- and I type at an average of 65-80 wpm), but as soon as I get chance, I'll resurrect my Master List thread and tell you all about it there. There's quite a bit of very useful stuff from The Age of Exploration , and even some from the later two plugs, that I had completely forgotten about.

And as for crazy-ideas-that-just-might-work, again I refer you to the Master List of Unused Ideas for Plugins thread... Should be on page 3 or 4 by now...
