Hello all, before you roll your eyes and think "here's another one looking for artists for a plugin that will never happen" please read the rest of the post
I was thinking of restarting work on a TC plugin (for EVN) I had started and mostly finished a couple years ago called Nemesis. I'm not sure if anyone here was around then, if so you might remember it. It got shelved for various reasons, but I was hoping to give it another go.
The original plugin was almost complete (all of the story line planned, a lot of it coded, all the ships, weapons, planets and systems coded, mission bits planned out, trading lanes done, most graphics done, etc...) was fairly massive, a bit bigger than the EVO galaxy. The new version would be much smaller (far fewer systems, ships, weapons) but with more time spent on story lines and graphics. The idea I was toying with would be to release in Chapters, thus guaranteeing the artists work would not be wasted and the plugins would not be years in development (1 month or so per chapter after the first one is released, depending on the graphics most likely).
To do this I would need a couple (2?) people to do the graphics (I couldn?t draw a picture to save my life):
- approx. 8 ship and 6 weapon graphics.
- approx. 8 realistic planet/station sprites and landing graphics (multiple ports per planet, including people in the graphics)
I have most of the new story line (I?m basically revising the old one) planned out, I?d be doing everything but the graphics. After having coded almost all of Nemesis, I know how it works and how much work it would require.
There have been countless plugins ever since EV was released promising to be the ultimate TC plugin, 99% were abandoned. I can't offer the artists anything in exchange (except the credit for their work, obviously) aside from a guarantee that if they help, the plugin will be released (Nemesis wasn?t released before partly due to a lack of enough good graphics). The only way I'm going to put the massive amount of time needed to do what I have in mind into the plugin is if I can get the graphics to make it worth while.
If people could take a look at the (url="http://"http://outpost.web1000.com/nemesis")Nemesis website(/url) and then give me your opinions and feedback, I'd appreciate it.

In your opinion, would there be any interest in a plugin like Nemesis?

Would there be a couple graphic artists willing to help out? Since Nemesis will be dependent on the writing and graphics, I would need to get custom graphics.
