What is it?
I post a "mission" and you people have to complete it. These missions will all be about pushing the limits of the engine specified. It might be for EV, EVO, or EVN. Whoever does it best in the shortest time wins. I might give out awards for other attempts that come in too late but do it in a different way.

Why do I want to do this?
Bragging rights, baby. You complete the hardest challenges and you prove your worth as a developer. Complete the easier ones and you're on your way. The most extreme challenges or the ones completed in the wackiest way get you a prize. I won't say it, but you can assume whatever it is, it starts with a "k".

It's karma isn't it?
I will not say.

When does it begin?
Anyone with any ideas for good challenges should email them to me, including your member name. I will start posting challenges soon, both of my own designs and of the best ones emailed to me.

When it does begin, how do I enter the competition?
There is no need to contact me ahead of time, unless you have any questions. You can post them here or email me. I will post clarifications as they are needed. When you have finished the mission, email me your work, and I will judge it.

How is it judged?
I will judge all entries on the basis of coding, creativity, and results. Extra points are given for doing things in a way I never would have thought of, and of course it all must work in-game how it should.

Are all missions possible?
Impossiblity will not be checked ahead of time. Just keep trying at it in different ways and it may work out after all.

Can you give me an example of what a mission might be?
Create a random event between 7 things. This must be easily testable in EVN as a new pilot using a chär you include. The random event trigger must repeat itself 100 times (and give evidence of which event has been triggered) so that probabilities can be determined to be equal. You must provide instructions on how to test.
Clarification: Some sort of tally must be made in-game of each event being triggered. The tallies must add up to 100.

So is this the first challenge? It doesn't sound very hard, but maybe I'm just not seeing a blind spot...

(Edit:) Hmm, does the random event need to automatically repeat 100 times w/o your interference, or is it allowed to manually trigger the random event 100 times (as long as there is an in-game tally)?

No, that is not the first challenge, merely an example of what kind of information about a challenge I would include, how clarifications would work, etc.

However, if you want to, you can always warm up of that one, I suppose.

Although you could probably have 100 seperate triggers, it might be more of a challenge to use only one. Remember, skillful manipulation and wacky-workarounds gain you extra points!
