      I know that strata(3.0) supports skin objects when doing conversions. But can it do them from ribs you draw and/or can you edit the ribs after converting from a lathed or extruded object? I tried to do a little research, and I got the idea that it's not in the free version, but I couldn't find out for sure so I thought I'd ask around here.

      Not the free version. The lowest version that supposts skinning objects from "ribs" is Plus. I will email you a kind of work around once I am out of lectures (in Uni at the moment half way through a stats lecture :p).
