I'm of the opinion that too many people focus on graphics and maps before storylines, and that graphics should be (one of) the last things you work on.
mΔsns are really the driving impetus of a game, and their lack cannot be made up for by pretty pics.
Personally, I'm just getting into plugins now... my plan:
Write a plugin for the existing game, creating supplementary plotlines.
Possibly experiment with a plugin adding gΓΆvts and such (to experiment with their behavior).
Make a TC that changes everything but graphics. This idea is primarily 'Earth humans + a few aliens,' so fits well within the existing graphic set.
Make a different TC that changes everything. This idea requires a different graphic set, for the most part.
Anyhow, that's my philosophy. For what it's worth.
