Uh. Let's see. Among others, I use Photoshop, Flash 5, Microsoft Word, Limewire, Quicktime, iTunes (3), Internet Explorer, EV Nova, Virtual Gamestation, Vendetta, Divx Doctor 2, and SETI@Home as a screensaver. I'm sorry, I'm just feeling really sarcastic today. But seriously, HomeWear, it's great that you set up this string to help newbies, but that's what this whole FORUM is for. The point is for newbies to ask specific questions about editing EV (eg. Where are the Nova sprites located? How can I get ### bit to set? Why does my freighter keep attacking warships? etc.). If you have more general questions, like "I don't know what I'm doing, so what do I do," just run a search. It's a link right under the "Post Reply" button. Because (and I'm not kidding), we tend to get people asking "what do I do" questions about once or twice every month.

Photoshop 7, BBEdit, Netscape 4.75, IE 5.1... uh, those are the only programs I use with anything EV-related.

I use:
Strata 3.7 Plus for my 3D work.
Photoshop 5.5 for making textures and logos for my models, and for buttens & interphase.
Appleworks 6.2 for spell cheaking and large documents. (it is VERY importent if you are making a TC to have LOTS of background stories and documents.)
Novamap for making my systems and arranging them
Novacalc for calculating the various recourse numbers i need.

Such questions live and die quickly. If a little question is asked, generally only one or two people will answer it before the string originator learns the solution to his/her problem. The originator will say so, and the topic will fade into obscurity. See? No clutter :).

To answer the main question of this thread, I don't create graphics, but I use ResEdit, Sprites, EnRle, and NovaCalc.
I am planning to learn modelling and rendering, and I'm probably going to use Bryce 5 just because I happen to have it (I believe that can be used for rendering, as I recall the Polycron people used a version of Bryce).
