Hello ppl,
does anyone know anything about future Win-portings of the Star Wars plugins?

The windows version of EVNova will work the same as the mac version, so all you need to do is drag the plugin onto the drag-and-drop utility that comes with the windows version.
Basically, when windows EVN comes out, you can port it yourself.

Hmmm... seeing as the Windows File-system doesn't support Resource-forks I would think this utility would have to be run on a mac.

Since Nova isn't being ported by Ambrosia, I would think the company that is would provide a utility to do the job.
Besides, it would be pointless to require an addon to be converted on a mac to be run on a PC, since the people who own the the PC version are almost unlikely to own both a PC and a MAC. (I being one of those "hybrids" who has both )

But you must remember, the people at contraband are CLONING the Macintosh resource manager, and I believe they are the ones who are making the convertor.

(being remade better than ever!)
If they do make a converter for Windows, it would need a .bin file. Otherwise, the Resource fork would be gone, regardless of reconstruction of handlers.

Given the difficulty of properly unStuffing Macintosh files to a binary format on a PC, it would probably be simpler to have the convertor be a Mac-only application. There are plenty of other ways to prevent PC users from getting shut out - Ambrosia could require that your plug-in have a Windows version in order to be posted in the add-ons directory, for example.

Or you could just use Basilisk II, like I do, which not only emulates a Mac, the handy dandy tutorial can convert files on your simulated Mac hard drive to MacbinaryII, aka .bin, format. And its completely free! You can have a clean conciense about the illegal Mac ROM by ignoring it completely.

Of course! By then, we'll have EV10 and Matt Burch will be lying on his deathbed, alternating telling us there won't be an EV11 and typing in computer code for said game maniacally!
Other people say what they've gotten in the past. Who cares? I want to know the future!
