Are you going to use the ev name, or even ask? Or will you start something new? I presume this will be the equivelent of EV online. If I'm wrong, tell me.

We do wish to use the EV name for this, but there is no word on that yet. EV Online is not accurate for the sole reason that there is not an official name for this yet. Once it progresses further, we hope it can adopt the EV name

In the past iterations of this project (which have become ancient history now, being composited into this engine), they have all be discussed here. This engine is a 6th playable build, and I think the developer board is the only place to get serious, useful feedback on it.

The flight model alone is a huge difference. Vendetta is true 3D flight, a la Parsec or Terminus, while this is combat on a 2D plane nearly identical in combast-style to EV. I played Vendetta today, and I personally thought that it wasn't that exciting compared to the Escape Velcity series. Maybe it will change as the game progresses.

I recall a while back(year or 2 ago) there were two projects being developed to create another engine on these boards; one being helian wars, I don't recall the other. Is this perhaps the maturation of one of these projects?
