    • Hegemony of Aurelia (plug concept)

      Hey all!

Just posted on the EVN board, but here it is:

I was thinking of making a plug that added one new govt in the north of fed space and uniting it under the "Hegemoney of Aurelia" (name tentative, suggestions welcomed). I could re-write some of the rebel/fed/polaris missions to include the Hegemony and create a mission string for the Aurelian-inclined.

      Suggestions/comments/advice/derission welcomed.

    • You're going to have to give me a bit more to go on before I can form an opinion. So you're going to form a new government, that's great, but what's the plot that's going with this government? Why should we care? You're going to have to give us something concrete to go on, if you want useful advice.

    • Oops . . .

      Here's my basic idea:
They have latent telepathic pwers (not nearly as strong as the Vell-os or even the Polaris) and, on account of this, were oppressed by the Feds right after the Vell-os war (when the Vellos could rat them out to the feds). Seeing this trend, they took off north under a certain (insert proud fisrt name) Aurelius (taking Luna with them!). They found a plentitude of planets to the galactic north. They settled on of them and dubbed it "Aurelia" after their fearless leader. They parked Luna in orbit for a homey feeling and proceeded to expand and prosper. They are friendly (but not allied) with the Polaris and get along with the Wraith.

Now, here's where you come in: They are in the process of a cultural reneissance and are building thier own hypergate system. They are re-discovered by a group of people led by General Smart. These (in EVN) Rebels convince the Aurelians that it is time to step up and fight the oppression, instead of jusst running. In order to do this, the Aurelians must send you to:

      1. Open up more serious talks with the Polaris
      2. Talk to the Aurorans
      3. Perhaps part of your job will be to help build hypergates that link the Aurelians with the Polaris and the Aurorans.

In the end the federation is DEFEATED (not just the Bureau) and partitioned up between the three factions.

Perhaps there could be a random mission or a choice (like at the end of the Polaris string-Aurora or Fed?) that decides who joins you and who doesn't, making for vaiability and re-play .

Because I am removing the rebels, the rebel ships and interface will become the Aurelian ships and interface (along with that nifty Yen-ish symbol).

      How does that sound?
      Thanks for the input!

    • Sounds interesting. It'll be fun to see that when you make it.
