I'd like to see the splash picture for that plug-in.

      Oooooh yeeeahh...

    • OK, so which would you people prefer,
      1.pokeballs

      or

      2. 3d rendered pokemon

Option 1 is quick and simple although extremely repetetive. Option 2 would take considerably longer, but would be supremely satisfying.

    • I just had a grim thought. If I do make this plug, I will have to learn poke-speak. Noooooooooo! Maybe I should just go over to the Nova Board, I'm sure they'll know. 😛

    • Though that kind of plug could be fun, I am afraid whoever made the graphics/plug would have to be drug out into the street and shot. I suggest not trying as I am not in a dragging-out-into-the-street-and-shooting mood.

    • I think that you should have pokémon floating about the universe, and then have some badas*ed ship for the player to use to blast away at the little critters. Maybe even have several types of ships and weapons for different methods of poké-population control.

    • You could have great big poke-stations that you could be sent on missions to blow up! Instead of an explosion, a bunch of poke-organs could float away
You could have a plot-rich plug-in in which pokemon have taken over the galaxy after discovering how to develop poke-astronauts, and the humans occupy a scant few settlements and colonies, fighting to survive the might of the poke-invaders!

You wouldn't even have to make it a TC, you could just make an entirely new galaxy only accessible via a one-way hypergate. Once you complete all the missions, you can go home. 😄

    • Ha ha.. That last idea is also really good. Really, though, pokémon graphics wouldn't be too hard to make. Really, all you'd need to do is deform spheres. You wouldn't even need textures. They're not detailed enough for them to matter... well maybe a couple textures, but really not that many. Wouldn't be to hard for someone to do. I mean look at "Jigglypuff" All you'd need are like 5 spheres.

lol. It would work better if you could implement it into a first-person-shooter game like Unreal Tournament or Marathon 🙂 🙂

Come to think of it, making pokemon for the Marathon Engine would be incredibly easy to an experienced 3-D graphics designer, if you could get past the obselete gaming engine and the sheer insanity of looking at pokemon for extended peroids of time.

Marathon is available (I think) at Bungie.com . It is the first FPS (first person shooter) game available on the Mac, and it should run very easily and I dont think it takes up to many MB. Get it if you can, it has a great storyline. Damn Microsoft for buying Bungie.

Really, so far I could only find the demo for it on Bungie's website but not anywhere where I can download the full free versions.

    • use banking sprites so that when they turn they lean into their turns, little running pokemon.... heeheehee.

Actually, you could make it a one system plug, that adds a system. The pokemon would be confined to that system. The planet could be a pokeball. It would be excellent target practice.

Make it good though, with nice little animated weapons, like electricity and stuff.

Open source too. You can get the engine for free, and all nice and updated. (url="http://"http://source.bungie.org/")http://source.bungie.org/(/url) For all sorts of platforms, including X, and with the demo levels right there to download too.

    • I say that You have all the different type of Pokeballs... Master, Stone, Regular, and all the others and use them as ships. then they can load one bay and a Pokemon to go with it, that way you launch the "Pokemon" and they fight the other pokemon and when the Pokemon is gone they can go after the actual ball. So each Pokeball would have different mass So they can have multiple Pokemon or just one large one that can kill all.

I can't even believe I'm contributing to make the most dumbest cartoon into my favorite game...

You'd have to give the Marathon engine drastic improvements to bring it up to even yesterday's standard. One could say it would be easier to code an engine from scratch.

    • Enough about Marathon. Let's get the topic back to Escape Velocity (nova). But I think that having a Pokémon plug would be kinda fun. You could set it up like EV Arena, where you can challenge various "trainers" (which would basically provide various combonations of pokémon) and win cash and various honors. You could even have "Master Ball" etc. plugs that increase your marine count that make it easier to capture pokémon. But of course, just the random poké-killing would be great as well.

      Matrix.
