    • Sprites: From EVO to EVN?


      I do have some spiffy ship sprites for EVO sitting around in my folders. I was wondering if there is a way to convert those sprites so they work in EVN.

      In the same vein, can you create a ship that has no running lights or weapon glows?

    • The EV/N sprites are so complex compared to their EV/O counterparts that I think it is impossible to convert them. (At least not easily).

      I think there's something in the EV/n bible which tells you exactly what you need to make a set of sprites for the new game, so I would look at that for more information.

      It's quite easy to convert the sprites; all you have to do is create a shän resource containing the same parameters as your old spďn resource (if you're willing to wait, w00tWare's upcoming PortAuthority utility will be able to do this automatically), and, for optimal performance, convert your PICTs to RLEs using EnRLE. Neither running lights, weapon glows, nor any of the other new visual effects are mandatory.
