    • Hypergate Question

Greetings everyone, this is in reference to an upcoming plug. Is it possible to have ships only use hypergates and not jump engines at all? The Prefer Hypergates in the govt resource is one-way only, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • Well... Just make it so that every single ship has a government, and that all governments have 'prefer gates' checked, and there's a gate in every system.

      -or-

just make it so that gates are the only available transport, and make sure all ships have the right to use gates. (No standard hyperlinks.)

    • Unforunately, neither of these solutions apply to NPCs. If a ship is in the system when you enter, it will depart using the hypergate. However, if a ship enters the system from a hypergate, it will then hyper out using jump engines even if there are no hyperlinks. Also, increasing the "gravity well" of the system to infinity merely means the ships try to run to the jump point forever, even to the point of leaving the playable map area.

    • Sorry, I didn't mean increasing the gravity well, I meant giving all NPCs 0 fuel.

    • Any suggestions?
