    • "Ship" Graphics Needed


      Finally registered- nice.

      Here's the scoop- The Robotech plug is still in the works, and it needs the graphics done for it- but it is still a good ways off. Anyone interested?

      But to fill the time between having my brother write the storylines and putting them into mission format, I started a new project that will knock your socks off. How about this: Romance of the Three Kindoms, done in EVN, inspired by Koei's games. It turns Nova into a full strategy game with the object of conquering China. I am finishing the missions and systems as I write this, but I need "ship" graphics for it: 202 AD chinese troopers- spearmen, bowmen, swordsmen, crossbowmen, and cavalry. Anybody know Poser? These graphics could probably be whipped up fairly quickly.

    • I am going to getting poser quite soon, but I know one of my friends has it, who is registered may be able to assist in some way. I'll check with him and get back to you. Cool idea by the way, my friend and I had a similar idea a while back, but for EV and it would of been ninjas and samurai. But your idea is awesome.

    • Inertialess ships. check out the Gundam 0083 teaser. It kinda has the same principal that I think you want to use (he says as he shamelessly advertises for his own plug)

    • Yup, inertialess ships, and planet-type ships/weapons so that spobs can be used as fortifications. And if that isn't enough realism, know this: it isn't meant to simulate 202 AD Chinese War. That is what Koei's games do. This is meant only to be fun and to stretch the EVN engine a bit.

      Update on status: Attack/Defend "tactic" missions almost complete. I shouid have an alpha version ready within a week. Tinkering with the AI crons, adding other tactics like spying, sabotage, etc, may take a lot longer.

      Quick question, though. The Bible says you enter a negative value into the murk field to hide the starfield. This doesn't seem to work- so I just went with a fog of war type murk- but hiding those stars would be nice. Any clues?

    • I think that there's a resource for the starfield itself. I'm pretty sure that it's spin 700 (in Nova Graphics 2). You can probably replace that with a ground image (or several to have variation). Can anyone corroborate my claim?

      ya, but dont replace them with too big of sprites or it will Slow everything down to a crawl. but the thing to do would be small mud patches and bushes. and the shade of the background realy off sets the colors so alot of testing is needed. a mild green can look neon, I'v managed to make it look halfway grassy muddy and swampy though with my ground plug.
