    • Well, Maya is probablly one of the most powerfull 3d applications you can buy. The fact that it just became $5000 cheaper is sunigficant for hobbiest 3d artists. While most of us don't have $2000 to spend on any 3d program we want, this will probablly force down the price of lower end programs like Lightwave which right now can't compete with Maya.

      $7000->$2000? That IS a big price drop. And of course there's the Personal Learning Edition, now, too.. which I tried to try, but didn't have enough RAM. Looks like not just any G4 can run everything anymore...
