    • Any EV:N developers looking for ideas?

I have heard that EV: Nova was made so that it could utilize "shield glow", or a shield flashing, when it. Something like that. First of all, is there al ready a graphic ready to do that, or was it just made so that you could do it, but from scratch?

If it's all ready but they just didn't utilize it in EVN, here's a plug-in idea. If anyone wants to, someone can make a plug-in that will turn on this shield glow, or flash. While I am swamped with work, I cannot begin to learn to do this myself, but someone...feedback...? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • No, its not a game generated sheild as you are thinking. You can't simply turn it on.
What mcb was talking about the the sheild feild in the shรคn resource. You can render a bubble sheild on top of your ship and then use it as the sheild thingy.

    • So, in that way, when your shields are depleted...the bubble goes away.. still, i cant see how you could make that look good. :frown:

No, it's like in Star Trek: the shields only appear when a weapon hits you while they're online. The rest of the time, they're invisible.

Not if your talking about DS9......that pretty much lacked shields all together;)

Voyager has the best examples of this shield effect, particularly in some of the early Ka'zon episodes. Many of Deep Space Nine's ships used conforming shields, which take the shape of their ship and therefore aren't usually very visible. The Naboo fighters in Star Wars Episode I seem to have something like this as well.

    • Hey what about the organic shields in Episode I with the ripple around the impact zone. That would be really cool. Of course that means that the shields would have to be visible all the time so you couldn't really see the ship sprite well.
